Roman Reigns is one of the most prolific performers in the history of WrestleMania. No man has main-evented WrestleMania more times than the Tribal Chief; Reigns has competed in a record 10 WrestleMania main events, which is a phenomenal achievement. However, Reigns’ WrestleMania main event appearances have featured across nine different WrestleManias, which is another record.
Reigns won the 2026 men’s Royal Rumble match, which was his second triumph in a Royal Rumble match and first Rumble triumph in 11 years. However, on the Monday, February 2, 2026 edition of Raw, Reigns opted to challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
Reigns and Punk are set to main event WrestleMania Sunday, which will be Reigns’ record-breaking 11th WrestleMania main event. Furthermore, some of his WrestleMania main events were duds, and others were memorable bouts.
Unfortunately, Roman Reigns and The Undertaker’s battle in the main event of WrestleMania 33 fell way short of expectations. Their No Holds Barred match was lackluster, with the Demon of Death Valley way past his prime. The in-ring action was sluggish and shouldn’t have closed out WrestleMania.
Fans still detested Reigns at this stage of his career, and they were desperate for Undertaker to prevail. Nevertheless, a chorus of boos reverberated around the arena after Reigns handed Undertaker his second defeat at WrestleMania with his patented Spear. Afterward, Undertaker teased retirement by leaving his hat, trench coat, and gloves in the ring.
Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar’s main event at WrestleMania 38 on Sunday is one of the most important in WrestleMania history. Reigns’ Universal Championship and Lesnar’s WWE Championship were on the line in a Winner Takes All match to crown the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Reigns and Lesnar’s second one-on-one WrestleMania main event in five years was disappointing. Inevitably, Reigns registered another huge victory over Lesnar with a Spear to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Ironically, Reigns’ fourth WWE Championship reign kick-started at AT&T Stadium, the venue of his third WWE Title win, six years prior.
Triple H eliminated Roman Reigns en route to winning his 14th and final WWE world championship in the 2016 Royal Rumble match. It was obvious that Reigns and Triple H were going to headline WrestleMania 32 in one of the most boring main events in the history of WrestleMania. However, fans were still not on board with Reigns being shoved down their throats.
Boos rang out around AT&T Stadium, and despite the Cerebral Assassin being the heel, fans cheered when he had some offense. The Game attempted to nail Reigns with his trademark sledgehammer, but Reigns sidestepped, finishing off Triple H with a Spear to capture his third WWE Championship.
For the fourth consecutive year, Roman Reigns featured in the main event of WrestleMania. Reigns challenged Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34. However, the WWE Universe didn’t care too much for Reigns, and he was beaten to a bloody pulp by the reigning Universal Champion.
“Boring” and “This is awful” were among the chants heard during the match. They slugged it out for almost 16 minutes, but Reigns’ resiliency was on show as he refused to stay down. However, six F5s were required for Lesnar to see off Reigns and continue his Universal Championship reign.
A blockbuster tag team match closed out the first night of WrestleMania 40 weekend. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and “The Final Boss” The Rock went head-to-head with Cody Rhodes and the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. If Reigns and Rock prevail, Reigns and Cody’s match, 24 hours later, would be a Bloodline Rules match, but if they lose, the Bloodline is banned from ringside.
The in-ring action was hard-hitting, and the match spilled into the crowd. However, Reigns speared the Final Boss by accident. Nevertheless, Reigns and Rock regrouped with Rock picking up the win for Reigns and Rock after he covered the American Nightmare after executing the People’s Elbow.
Roman Reigns’ hands were full in his Universal Championship title defense at WrestleMania 37. The 2021 men’s Royal Rumble winner, and WWE Hall of Famer Edge, alongside Daniel Bryan, were his challengers in a high-profile triple threat match. However, this was the first time that fans witnessed Reigns in the flesh in his new “Tribal Chief” gimmick because of COVID-19 regulations.
They hit a home run in an outstanding triple threat match. The pendulum swung several times with all three enjoying spells of dominance. Ultimately, Reigns retained the title and humiliated both men by stacking them, showcasing his dominance.
Roman Reigns won the 2015 Royal Rumble match, and not even an appearance from The Rock could save Reigns from receiving boos. The Big Dog challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 31, and it’s arguably one of the best matches between Lesnar and Reigns. However, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to make it an impromptu triple threat match.
Rollins’ MITB cash-in was the first time that someone cashed in their Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania. However, Reigns once again failed to win a world championship. He took the pinfall loss as Seth Rollins nailed him with a Curb Stomp to win the WWE Championship in Reigns’ first WrestleMania main event.
Fans were hooked on Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes’ clash in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Sunday. The American Nightmare won the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match, and many were convinced that he’d bring the curtain down on Reigns’ record-breaking Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign. However, that failed to materialize.
Repeated outside interference from the Bloodline halted Rhodes’ quest to finish the story for a year. The storytelling was fantastic, but the Tribal Chief survived as he capitalized on a Samoan Spike delivered to Rhodes by his cousin Solo Sikoa, and Reigns executed the Spear to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
A blockbuster main event featuring former world champions Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk closed out night one of WrestleMania 41 weekend. All three men detested each other and were desperate to win. However, there was a caveat as WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman made his presence felt.
Reigns competed in his record 10th WrestleMania main event, which is a ridiculous achievement. They stole the show in one of the best WWE matches in 2025. Furthermore, Reigns was blindsided by his former Wiseman, Paul Heyman. Heyman nailed Reigns with a low block after doing the same to CM Punk, but Reigns’ rival, Seth Rollins, was the beneficiary as he formed an unlikely alliance with Heyman, and Rollins covered the Tribal Chief.
Cody Rhodes became the fourth man to win back-to-back men’s Royal Rumble matches in 2024. Inevitably, the American Nightmare chose to face Roman Reigns for the second consecutive year for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Sunday. However, the deck was stacked against Rhodes, as it was a Bloodline Rules match, allowing the Bloodline to feature at ringside or interfere.
Rhodes knew it was now or never to finish the story. However, The Undertaker, The Rock, John Cena, and Seth Rollins made their presence felt by interfering. Furthermore, Reigns and Rhodes told an excellent story in an emotionally-feuled match. Ultimately, Rhodes ended Reigns’ record-breaking 1,316-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, finishing the story in style with multiple Cross Rhodes.
