Reason WWE Is Making SummerSlam 2 Nights Could Affect Other Premium Live Events
WWE

Premium Live Events, or pay per views, have dramatically changed in WWE and here are details on why SummerSlam will be 2 nights.

For the longest time, watching a WWE pay per view meant staying up late on Sunday. In recent years, we have seen WWE switch dynamics, as the show now takes place on Saturday. Also, they made WrestleMania a 2 night event. And, we learned SummerSlam 2026 from the US Bank Stadium in Minnesota will run August 1 and August 2. Therefore, SummerSlam joins WrestleMania as the only wrestling card held over two days.

While no other shows have been split, that could happen according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. They noted how WWE is testing SummerSlam to see about possibly taking their top events overseas to places like Saudi Arabia or London. “One aspect of why WWE turned SummerSlam into a two-night event starting in 2026 is that if WWE decides to take WrestleMania international, either Saudi Arabia or London, it will give a similar size event to North America,” the report noted.

No Longer WWE Vs UFC

With the people who run WWE and UFC working together, a change was likely. TKO does want the UFC to battle WWE on TV as that would be counterproductive. Instead, Dana White noted how the UFC will remain on Saturdays, with WWE going back to Sunday nights. As of now, such a change has not been confirmed. Although, it does make total sense. Work as one, instead of a divided unit.

Lately, WWE has been traveling all over the world to places like Canada, France, Puerto Rico and Australia. They have been making regular stops in Saudi Arabia for years now as part of an exclusive deal. All the events outside of the United States have been huge success stories for WWE. The crowd is so wild, they are causing tremors in the buildings. And, we have seen tremendous pro wrestling as well. So, is SummerSlam being 2 nights just the beginning of major overhauls coming to WWE?
