What Happened to Karrion Kross?

When Karrion Kross walked down the aisle at SummerSlam, it seemed like WWE was finally getting behind him as a serious, main roster star. I was one of the many fans rooting for Kross to defeat Sami Zayn — not because I dislike Sami, but because Kross needed the win.

That didn't happen.

In the days that followed, we found out why. Kross and WWE could not agree on the terms of a new contract, and according to Kross, his real-life wife, Scarlett, had not been offered one yet.

In an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the host asked Kross directly if the situation was a "work," and Kross confirmed it was not — he was, in fact, no longer with WWE.

Since then, Kross has been working the independent circuit, as he does not have a 90-day non-compete clause to honor since he was not released from his contract, but the contract expired.

The former leader of The Final Testament remains open to returning to WWE, as he still considers it his dream job, but has expressed he will only do so if he feels respected by the terms of a potential new contract, including a thorough explanation from WWE management on how they arrive at the numbers presented to him.
