Ricky Saints has been in WWE for less than two months, but his talent is undeniable. It's not like the 35-year-old was an unknown prospect. He spent five years in AEW and was by far one of the most engaging acts in the company, but he struggled to receive a sustained push.
The lack of consistent and coherent screen time led him directly to NXT, where the creative team has strapped a rocket to his back since his arrival. It's unclear how long the North American Champion will spend in "developmental," but he has immense long-term aspirations in the company.
While talking to the Ringer's Cameron Hawkins, Saints shared his lofty career goals. "I want the WWE Championship, but along the way, the Intercontinental title would be great," Saints said. "For the time being, he'll enjoy his friend Rhodes's year-long WWE Championship reign while appreciating where he is on his journey."
HE DID IT!!!!

Saints is an excellent promo, and the comparisons to The Rock are warranted. It's not an overt cosplay but rather an homage with his own flair, which can easily fluctuate between being a heel or a face.
He's also a technician in the ring who has had some incredible matches with the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Juice Robinson. It's hard always to define a wrestler's "it factor," but Saints clearly possesses it.
After SummerSlam, Saints should be called up to the main roster and be a staple of the upper mid-card scene, working with names such as Penta, Ludwig Kaiser, and a returning Ilja Dragunov. If he can refine his character further and have decent material to work with, he will have a limitless ceiling as a performer.
