Roman Reigns is truly in the midst of an unprecedented run. It's easy to forget that his dominance stretches back over a decade at this point. He was undoubtedly over-pushed as "The Big Dog" and had a permanent spot on the marquee because of Vince McMahon, but that doesn't erase the validity of his accomplishments.
The 39-year-old has gotten far more praise as the OTC, as when engaged, his quality in the ring and on the mic can evoke raw emotion from the audience. Ahead of headlining another massive event, Reigns reflected on his record-setting weekend.
While talking to UFC legend Daniel Cormier on ESPN's YouTube channel, Reigns shared insight on main eventing his record tenth WrestleMania. "Last year, my father and uncle passed away, and around that time, they were on their last days, so my family had to cancel," Reigns said. "This year, I got my whole family here, 40 family members in two suites. I want to give them the best Roman Reigns that has ever performed."
Thanks to some other comments in the media, Reigns has had a polarizing week, but this particular response was heartwarming and a great peek behind the curtain. His smile in the video is infectious, and it's evident how much this moment means to him.
The build to Reigns against Seth Rollins and CM Punk hasn't been perfect, but the bout has a chance to be an all-time classic. Few wrestlers can match the intensity of a committed Reigns, which should only heighten the excitement for this affair. This is going to be box office.
