'Shouldn’t Have Come Back' - Logan Paul's Shock Verdict on Cena vs Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza
Logan Paul & John Cena WWE SmackDown August 2025

Logan Paul has admitted he wants John Cena to beat 'disrespectful' Brock Lesnar when they face one another in tonight's opening contest at Wrestlepalooza. The Maverick explained why he is backing Cena, whom he recently lost to at Clash in Paris just last month.

Logan Paul Supporting John Cena vs Brock Lesnar at WrestlePalooza

Logan Paul took to social media to react to an incident that occurred on SmackDown when Lesnar destroyed a Prime Hydration Station, which promotes the YouTube megastar's Prime beverage company. He hit out at the Beast:

"What the hell did Prime ever do to you other than pay your bills. John Cena vs Brock Lesnar tonight on ESPN, absolutely crazy, but I'm rooting for John because Brock, you're a disrespectful oversized sasquatch, and you shouldn't have come back to WWE. There I said it."

Lesnar has been a man possessed since returning at SummerSlam and targeting Cena to re-ignite their rivalry from many years ago. He has made clear he wants to retire the 17-time world champion at Wrestlepalooza rather than allow the 48-year-old to see out his career at the end of his Farewell Tour.

Paul isn't booked for the PLE at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, but clearly he'll be cheering Cena on in the show's opener. He may also be inclined to tune in and watch one of WWE's all-time greats, whom he wants to succeed, go to war with arguably the toughest athlete in the promotion's history.

What Are Brock Lesnar's Thoughts On Logan Paul?

Logan Paul has undoubtedly proven his critics wrong by becoming the best celebrity turned pro wrestler, perhaps the business has ever seen. He has earned plaudits from legendary names such as JBL and Sgt. Slaughter, the latter, who thinks he could become the next John Cena.

Brock Lesnar gave his thoughts on Paul possibly taking up a wrestling career ahead of the 30-year-old's debut at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022. He spoke about Logan and his brother Jake in an interview with the New York Post: "Great for YouTube. I'm happy for those guys. They worked at something, they built their name up. They thought outside the box, they promoted themselves."

The former UFC heavyweight added, "Can (Logan) become a professional wrestler? Maybe if he puts as much ambition into that."

Paul has since become a regular member of the WWE roster and held the United States Championship while fighting top names such as Cena, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. But he has yet to meet the Beast, and if he continues talking ill of the 48-year-old, he could end up paying the price.
