These WWE SmackDown results are from the most recent episode, taking place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The WWE Universe was in store for the first entrants into the upcoming Elimination Chamber, along with numerous championship storylines unfolding.
WWE SmackDown opened with what appeared to be WWE Champion Drew McIntyre coming to the ring, but Cody Rhodes attacked him on the entrance ramp. This resulted in Rhodes cutting a promo in the ring. Their rivalry continues to heat up as the babyface announced that McIntyre won’t make it to WrestleMania.
The first match of the night was for the Women’s WWE World Tag Team Championship. Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky defended their titles against Giulia and Kiana James. Ripley and James are strong and athletic enough to make it, so it’s a shame to see how they choose to get over. The match featured some impressive power moves and reversals, as well as believable false finishes. The champions ultimately retained.

The next match was a non-title match between WWE United States Champion Carmello Hayes and the Miz. After the Ilya Dragunov era, this match paled in comparison. Hayes pulled off a unique reversal of Miz’s finisher to pick up the victory.
The next match was a qualifier for the women’s Elimination Chamber match. It featured Lash Legend, Chelsea Green, and Tiffany Stratton. On one hand, Stratton deserves credit for trying a more challenging move set than most, but she appears a step too slow at the moment to pull them off believably. Green executed a great coast-to-coast, a move rarely pulled off by women, but had to take the pin. The match ended up running on Tiffy Time.
Kit Wilson cut an in-ring promo in the next segment. He seems to be getting his “toxic” gimmick over, and welcomed anyone who participated in the Royal Rumble to come have a match. To his demise, “The Ruler” Oba Femi answered the call. The result was a squash match.
McIntyre was in the ring for what appeared to be a promo segment, but he was blindsided by “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu. Security lay in Fatu’s wake as the champ scurried away.
“The King of Strong-Style” Shinsuke Nakamura versus Tama Tonga was next. Nakamura was on a roll when the MFTs caused outside interference, allowing Tonga to pick up the pinfall victory.
Accompanied by Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan boasted about her Royal Rumble victory when she was interrupted by Women’s WWE Champion Jade Cargill. Jordynne Grace decided to insert herself in the situation, resulting in a tag match. It was an uneventful affair in which Grace rolled up Rodriguez after an accident between Judgement Day faction mates.

McIntyre made another attempt at a promo, actually getting to speak this time. He retorted to CM Punk and Roman Reigns demeaning his title before being interrupted by Trick Williams. The champ verbally put the rookie in his place before cutting to commercial.
The following match was a qualifier for the men’s Elimination Chamber featuring Solo Sikoa, Randy Orton, and Alister Black. They allowed Black to look strong, beating up on Sikoa. Orton, however, slithered in at the right moment to hit an RKO for the victory.
The road to WrestleMania is headed to Elimination Chamber, and the qualifiers are sure to unfold in the next couple of weeks. Who will join Stratton and Orton in one of WWE’s most unique and entertaining events?
