Wrestling fans love a good mystery angle, and WWE has been delivering on one the past few days with social media posts that show a closeup video only of someone walking. Who could it be? Many think it will be the return of Gunther , who has been absent for months due to injury. What if it's Brock Lesnar or the return of Chris Jericho? Or perhaps it's simply something to do with Bron Breakker and The Vision. But what about someone else? There are two reports out there that Santos Escobar will make his singles debut on Raw tonight. Is he the one behind the teasers as WWE looks to build him into a star?

Santos Escobar Set To Debut On WWE Raw

Last week, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Santos Escobar, who left WWE weeks ago only to quickly re-sign with the company, would be showing up on the October 27 edition of Raw at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. This came after Escobar hinted on Instagram that he was putting his past behind him, writing:

Never stop. Always persevere. #luchalibre #mexico PALANTE!!!

"Palante" means to "move forward" and it looks like WWE might be doing just that with Santos Escobar, as Bodyslam.net is also confirming that a repackaged version of the former SmackDown star will show up on Raw.

Santos Escobar Left And Quickly Rejoined WWE

Santos Escobar was a huge star in both CMLL and AAA as El Hijo del Fantasma before he joined WWE in 2019 and quickly became the Cruiserweight Champion. It looked like WWE was finally going to create a new main event level Hispanic star, as Santos Escobar created the Ledgado Del Fantasma faction in NXT. Sadly, the faction didn't live up to its potential, and on the main roster, WWE turned Escobar babyface as part of Rey Mysterio's LWO.

Santos Escobar spent too long in the background, leading to another heel turn and a reformed Legado Del Fantasma, but the group, which now consisted of Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza, made little impact on SmackDown. Earlier this month, Santos' contract expired, and he was out of WWE. It looked like he might be AEW bound, but just one day later, he re-signed with WWE.

It's now or never for the 41-year-old Santos Escobar. A fresh start as a repackaged singles character on Raw is just what he needs. Whether or not he's the man behind the mysterious teases remains to be seen, but either way, get ready to see Escobar tonight.
