Stephanie Vaquer is sidelined after WrestleMania 42 and is currently not cleared to compete. What had promised to be a pivotal moment in her WWE journey quickly became a difficult time, both in and out of the ring.

Vaquer began WrestleMania as the reigning WWE Women’s World Champion, but her first appearance on the main event stage did not go as expected. After a swift loss to Liv Morgan that led to a title change, Vaquer experienced a sudden downturn.

WrestleMania Defeat and a Storyline Write-Off

After WrestleMania, Vaquer found herself in another predicament in an episode of WWE Raw. Backstage, she was assaulted by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in what was thought to be a continuation of a storyline.

It was later reported that the segment was intended to show Vaquer being written off from TV due to injury. The storyline helped explain her absence from the ring, a tactic often employed in wrestling when wrestlers are out of action.

Injury Timeline Remains Unclear

According to updates from WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, Vaquer is expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future. While no exact timeline has been confirmed, the report suggests that her recovery may take longer than initially hoped.

There has been mixed information regarding a potential return date. Some sources have expressed optimism that she could be back in time for SummerSlam, one of WWE’s biggest annual events. However, it has also been emphasized that such a return is far from guaranteed.

Other backstage discussions have offered a more optimistic outlook, suggesting that Vaquer might return in as little as six weeks. The timeline remains uncertain, with six weeks seen only as a best-case scenario rather than a confirmed recovery period.

First Major Injury Since WWE Signing

This marks the first time Vaquer has been forced to take time off due to injury since signing with WWE in 2024. Up to this point, she had been a regular feature on television and had rapidly established herself as a major name in the women’s division.

Earlier this year, there were concerns that she might already be dealing with physical issues. Reports indicated that she had been managing an ankle injury in the months leading up to WrestleMania. Despite that setback, she continued to compete, though her schedule was limited to roughly one match per month.

Questions Surround the Nature Of the Injury

Whether her current injury is connected to the previously reported ankle injury or is new is unknown. WWE has yet to provide official information about the injury, and there is speculation about what it might be. Whatever the case, it is certainly a setback for a burgeoning career.

The loss of Vaquer will certainly affect the women’s division, as she was rapidly establishing herself as a leading woman in the WWE. Her absence from WrestleMania and the abrupt cut from television have left questions as to when and how she will return, and how she will be written into new storylines. In the meantime, it’s time for healing. As news develops, WWE fans will be anxiously awaiting Vaquer’s return with hope for a successful comeback once she can return to the ring.
