Stephanie Vaquer vs Naomi: WWE Clash in Paris Championship Match Set

Now that the 2025 WWE SummerSlam PLE is finished, up next is the global event, Clash In Paris. The PLE is sent for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Paris La Défense Arena. It already seems that the card is shaping up just hours after night 2 of SummerSlam, because one star, Stephanie Vaquer, knows who she wants to face. Unlike SummerSlam, this former NXT Women's Champion won't be missing Clash in Paris.

Who Is Stephanie Vaquer’s Opponent?

It was on July 13 at the WWE Evolution PLE, where Vaquer won the Battle Royal, earning a number one contendership for the Women's World Championship at Clash In Paris. Vaquer has made it known on social media that she has her sights set on Naomi and the WWE Women's Championship. Now she wants Naomi to focus her attention on "La Primera."

“Naomi, congratulations, you just won a free pass to hell because, in Paris, you’re going to face La Primera, and I’m going to become the new champion.

Naomi retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY during night 2 of SummerSlam. She won the Triple Threat Match by a rollup pin. In a heel move, after Ripley hit IYO SKY with a Riptide, Naomi was quick to roll up Ripley from behind and hold onto her tights to secure the pinfall. For now, though, Ripley is going to have to wait to get her revenge.

Naomi Has An Intense Battle Ahead Of Her

Now the two, for the first time, will be in the ring, and it’s a safe bet to say that Vaquer might just be Naomi’s hardest opponent. Even before making her WWE debut on the September 24, 2024, episode of WWE NXT, Vaquer was already known for her intense in-ring style and being a dominant force in the industry. Some of her career highlights include the CMLL World Women’s Championship as well as holding the promotion’s first Women’s Tag Team Titles with CMLL star Zeuxis. It’s worth mentioning that Zeuxis was part of the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

Vaquer is also a former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. Her title reign ended after losing to AEW star Mercedes Mone at the 2024 AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door event. Mone is, of course, known to WWE fans as Sasha Banks. She has a connection to Vaquer’s upcoming opponent. Mone notably held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Naomi before both of them abruptly left the company.

Anyway, with Naomi’s current mean streak, she can’t be counted out just yet. Vaquer might have to proceed with caution. As recently noted, Naomi just received praise from WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H for being the most “improved” wrestler on the roster. Like her future opponent, she also showed her brutality at the Evolution PLE. Naomi won against Jade Cargill in a No-Holds-Barred Match. Later in the show, she became the new Women's Champion after cashing in her MITB case.
