At NXT Halloween Havoc, there was a major shake-up in the NXT Women’s Division as Tatum Paxley defeated Jacy Jayne to win her first-ever NXT Women’s Championship. It was a chaotic match full of interruptions and wild moments, but Paxley managed to overcome Jacy and all outside distractions to finally claim the title.
Members of both factions, Paxley’s group, The Culling, and Jayne’s stable, Fatal Influence, were involved throughout the match. Earlier, both sides were ejected after a massive ringside brawl that included Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid, Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, and Izzi Dame.
Despite the ejection, tensions remained high. Izzi Dame returned carrying the championship belt, apparently targeting Jayne. Paxley dodged the attack, and Jayne countered with a sharp forearm that knocked Dame down. The distraction gave Paxley the opening to hit her Cemetery Drive finisher and secure the pinfall victory.
Before the ending, Jayne came close to retaining her title after landing a top-rope neckbreaker. However, Shawn Spears interfered by placing Paxley’s foot on the bottom rope to break the count. Paxley nearly won earlier with a 450 splash, while Jayne showed her ruthless side by catapulting Paxley into the exposed steel beams under the ring.
This marks Tatum Paxley’s first championship win in NXT. She earned her title shot by winning a 20-woman battle royal that ended Jayne’s fifth title defense.
Paxley, who trained at the WWE Performance Center, debuted on NXT Level Up in February 2022 alongside Ivy Nile. In 2023, she adopted a more intense persona when she joined The Culling with Izzi Dame. Her victory at Halloween Havoc cements her as one of NXT’s fastest-rising stars and signals the start of a new era in the women’s division.
