'That Would Be Big' - Drew McIntyre Hints At Passing Torch To WWE RAW Star

Drew McIntyre once warned a fellow WWE hothead to "harness his anger in the right direction," but has now suggested that could soon be towards him. The Scottish Warrior is one of the most unpredictable loose cannons on the roster, who has targeted Cody Rhodes in recent weeks.

Drew McIntyre Talks Up Match With "Talented" WWE RAW Star

McIntyre has been a vengeful heel in recent years, feeling as though he's been let down by his colleagues and fans in pursuit of being world champion. He looks set to challenge Rhodes for the WWE Championship at Wrestlepalooza on September 21 but does have other members of WWE's roster on his mind.

The 40-year-old was asked about any opponent he hasn't faced that he'd like to get in the ring with in the near future. He responded (via @adamglyn on TikTok): "There are a few of them (I would like to face), in terms of the younger generation, let's go with Bron Breakker. We've never had a singles match, that would be a big one."

Fans might have to wait a while to see the pair cross paths, given they aren't on the same brand and are both heels. But one would envision they will eventually battle, given the similarities between their characters and WWE stories.

Breakker has emerged as one of WWE's brightest prospects since making the step up to the main roster from NXT, where he has torn through his opponents. The 27-year-old is a former Intercontinental Champion and a member of Seth Rollins' faction, 'The Vision'.

The Unpredictable Badass is viewed as a future world champion, a proclamation made by former chairman Vince McMahon when he bestowed the 'Chosen One' nickname on the Scot during his main roster debut in August 2009.

McIntyre took his time and even had to work his way back into the company before becoming a world champion, but beat Brock Lesnar, who he also wants to face again, at WrestleMania to win the WWE Championship in 2020. He currently has his sights set on the reigning WWE Champion, Rhodes, but could be eyeing a passing of the torch type of feud with Breakker in the long term.

Drew McIntyre: I See What Bron Breakker's Been Doing

This isn't the first time McIntyre has proposed a possible match with Breakker, as he named the former two-time NXT Champion as one of WWE's most exciting talents. He said back in June 2024 (via The Indian Times): "I see what Bron Breakker has been doing, tearing through the competition. At the same time, he’s got to learn how to harness that anger in the right direction."

McIntyre similarly ran roughshod on WWE's main roster when returning to the promotion and took on his Scottish Psychopath gimmick. He added, "I’m sure I’ll see him down the line. We have a roster of very talented people."

Breakker is currently occupied doing Rollins' dirty work as part of The Vision storyline but has all the ingredients of a future world champion. Many believe he'll eventually break free from the reigning World Heavyweight Champion's group and become a babyface, akin to Batista's evolution into a main event talent over 20 years ago, when he defeated Triple H and became world champion at WrestleMania 21.
