The Undertaker helped produce one of the best wrestling shows of the year, and it wasn’t even a WWE-related show.
On December 20, AAA Guerra de Titanes was broadcast live on WWE’s YouTube channel for fans worldwide. It contained a stacked card, and appearances from WWE wrestlers such as Ethan Page, Dragon Lee, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and more.
Shortly after the event, Wrestling Observer Radio reported that some people in WWE believed “it was the best WWE show all year.” It turns out, The Undertaker had something to do with it.
In the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said that Jeremy Borash (WWE Vice President of Content & Development) and The Undertaker booked Guerra de Titanes this year.
“The booking of the show was handled by Jeremy Borash and Undertaker. They worked with Konnan and Dorian Roldan and went through them to make sure the ideas worked based on AAA history and Mexican pro wrestling culture.”
It isn’t surprising because anyone who follows WWE and AAA probably knows that Undertaker was a big reason why WWE acquired a 51% stake in the Mexican promotion earlier this year.
The main event of the show featured a tag team match between Rey Mysterio (originally scheduled to be Penta, but he got injured) and Rey Fenix against Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano. Dominik lost the match and ended up leaving his tag partner in the ring alone.
