The Young Bucks have plenty of respect for their AEW Double Or Nothing opponents.

Matt and Nick Jackson spoke with Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated ahead of the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view. The pair said that they are going to step things up this weekend, using a few Las Vegas analogies to set the tone.

“We’re the real Team AEW, and it’s time to go big or go home,” Matt Jackson. “And much like my gambling-addicted brother Nicholas says when he’s down six figures at MGM Grand Casino’s High Limit Room in Vegas, it’s time to go double or nothing.”

The Young Bucks also have plenty of tricks up their sleeves, and Team AEW is about to find out what the “new Elite” is all about.

The new Elite

“I’d suggest they roll back tape from last year’s Anarchy in the Arena Match and see what lengths we’re willing to go,” said Matt Jackson. “I still get pain in my right heel to this day when I step a certain way on it from getting slammed barefoot into a pile of thumbtacks last year. We’re willing to go completely violent and crazy, to keep AEW on track to changing the world, and ridding the locker room of the remaining toxicity. Maybe we’ll do something wild with our new sneaker to do just that?”

“I’m worried about Bryan Danielson’s safety–and Bryan Danielson should be worried about Bryan Danielson’s safety, too,” said Matt Jackson. “He’s one bad bump away from the end. But still, we know we’re dealing with a very dangerous man. And Darby Allin is one resilient kid. He just broke his foot a second ago, and then got Final Destination’d by a bus in New York, yet he’s still somehow walking. And FTR are tough as heck, not afraid to get a little blood in between their fingernails as proven in our recent ladder match.”

“I will do anything to see if I can get cleared”

Speaking of tricks up his sleeve, Darby Allin recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about his status going into AEW Double Or Nothing.

Allin has been sidelined with a broken foot since March and got hit by a bus last month, but he called Tony Khan and asked to be in the Anarchy In The Arena match.

“I said I will do anything to see if I can get cleared. But right then and there, I just start driving back to Seattle because Dynamite was happening that Wednesday. So I do a 12 hour drive to Seattle. [I’m] so tired, trying to get clearance as I’m heading there,” Allin explained. “Literally, I’m in a boot, a walking boot, as I’m driving still. Me taking the walking boot off as soon as I get to the building was the first time I’d taken the boot off since the injury. I put my foot in a shoe for the first time and it was like, ‘Whoa! Alright, let’s see what happens.’ And I literally got clearance right before that Dynamite.”

I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve

Darby also said he hasn’t had time to train since returning last week. He doesn’t really have a plan for Sunday night… aside from teasing “a few tricks” up his sleeve.

“I don’t know the plan because I haven’t been actually in a ring to train since any of these injuries. So it’s going to see how my body adapts on the fly,” Allin explained. “But I definitely have some tricks up my sleeve. I got some sh*t planned. It’s going to be fun. Anarchy in the Arena, the last two were insane. And you can’t have Darby Allin enter a match and not live up to the hype. So I got some stuff planned. It’s just a matter of literally how my body feels when the bell rings.”
