A new TNA World Champion was crowned at “WWE Battleground,” and Thursday’s episode of “TNA iMPACT” featured newly-minted titleholder Trick Williams . What did Williams say ahead of his first title defense against Mike Santana ? Plus, Steve Maclin put the TNA International Championship at stake against Matt Cardona.

No. 1 Contender Match for TNA World Tag Team Championship: The Rascalz vs. Fir$t Cla$$ vs. Laredo vs. The System w/Alisha Edwards

Footage aired of The System ambushing Octagon Jr. backstage. As a result, Laredo entered the match alone. Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers represented The System in the match. Laredo and Trey Miguel locked up to begin the match. The two traded arm drags and went for dropkicks simultaneously. AJ Francis got in a tag and hit a double clothesline. He was popped with a superkick before KC Navarro tagged in.

Laredo was back in, and he hit a double missile dropkick on The System. He went for a dive to the outside, but Alisha interfered. The referee wasted little time tossing Alisha from ringside. Laredo then took out The System with a Swanton Bomb. The Rascalz then hit suicide dives on Fir$t Cla$$.

Francis landed Tennessee Whiskey on Laredo. KC Navarro was tagged in, but he and Francis appeared to be at odds. It was a ruse as Navarro dropped to the mat, and Francis attempted to pin him. The other teams broke up the attempt. Laredo scored a DDT on Francis. Miguel hit a double dropkick on The System before hitting a dive on the team. Zachary Wentz and KC Navarro went flying over the top rope. Laredo then hit a corkscrew on everyone except Francis.

Francis hit Down Payment on Laredo, but Miguel got in a blind tag. Francis was hit with a meteora, and Miguel pinned Laredo for the win. Nic and Ryan Nemeth were then interviewed backstage. Nic gave credit to The Rascalz, but both he and Ryan vowed to hold onto the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Winners: The Rascalz

Mike Santana and AJ Francis Brawl

Santana threw a chair at AJ Francis backstage. The two were brawling before the cameras cut back to the arena.

Myla Grace & Harley Hudson Showcased

A video package featuring Myla Grace and Harley Hudson played. Hudson reflected on winning TNA Gut Check back in 2023. Grace looked back on her time wrestling in Japan. Grace got emotional talking about the passing of her grandfather. Out of nowhere, The Personal Concierge interrupted the segment, looking for Santino Marella.

Mustafa Ali w/Order 4 vs. Raj Singh

Ali immediately hit a running dropkick in the corner. Singh looked for a jumping move, but he got caught with a dropkick in mid-air. Ali then landed a rolling neckbreaker, followed by a standing corkscrew for a near fall. Singh took his opponent down with a clothesline.

Ali charged in, but Singh drove the Order 4 leader’s neck onto his knee. With the referee distracted by The Great Hands, Tasha Steelz pulled Ali out of the corner as Singh charged in. The interference allowed Ali to hit a 450 splash for the win. After the match, Ali demanded that Order 4 do further damage to Singh. Ali pulled Steelz away from the pile in anger.

Arianna Grace Surprises Santino Marella

Santino Marella told Arianna Grace that she has nothing to be ashamed of following her loss to Ressa Blanchard. Grace said she secured Jimmy Korderas as a special guest referee for their tag team match.

Lei Ying Lee vs. Ash by Elegance

Ash mocked Lee’s fighting style, but she quickly escaped the ring when her opponent threw out kicks. Lee connected with a knee to Ash, followed by a basement dropkick. Ash sent Lee headfirst into the turnbuckle. Ash landed a suplex on her opponent in the corner, and Lee favored her leg.

Lee moved out of the way of a leg drop attempt. Ash was clipped by a flying knee, followed by a superkick. Ash delivered a meteora for a two-count. Ash attempted some kicks of her own, but Lee fired up and planted her opponent with Thunderstruck, followed by a modified version of the airplane spin for the win.

After the match, TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich entered the ring and shook Lee’s hand after telling her they’ll collide at Against All Odds.

Trick Williams Refuses to Show Up in Brampton

Trick Williams wasn’t in the building, but he did address TNA fans in a prerecorded video. He warned Mike Santana ahead of their title match at “WWE NXT.” He claimed he’ll show up whenever he wants and wherever he wants. Williams vowed to take Joe Hendry’s fans and brand.

Mance Warner vs. Bryce Hansen

Warner landed some stiff kicks to Hansen in the corner. Warner took out his opponent with the exposed knee strike and then connected with The Pay Window for the win. After the match, Steph de Lander grabbed the mic and made it clear that Warner had dibs on the winner of Steve Maclin vs. Matt Cardona.

Rosemary Relishes Xia Brookside’s Dark Side

Rosemary addressed Xia Brookside, who finally snapped at “TNA Under Siege.” She asked if Brookside was ready to fall into the void. Rosemary called for “one last dance” with her rival in a Monster’s Ball match.

Santino Marella and Arianna Grace vs. Robert Stone and Victoria Crawford w/Tessa Blanchard

Robert Stone was out and announced Tessa Blanchard wasn’t cleared to compete. Victoria Crawford is Blanchard’s replacement. Stone announced the match can’t go over 10 minutes, Alisha Edwards is the special enforcer, and Marella’s Cobra move is banned.

Stone was running away from Marella immediately. He wasted little time tagging Crawford in. Grace sent Crawford retreating. Stone was tagged back in and faced Grace. Blanchard was caught interfering, and she was ejected. Grace hit a suplex on Crawford. She went high-risk, but Stone’s distraction allowed Crawford to slam her down to the mat. Grace went for a tag, but Stone hit Marella with a forearm. Grace landed a backdrop and tagged Marella in.

Marella landed a striking combination on Stone. He then landed a hip toss before Crawford was tagged back in. Grace had a pin attempt on Crawford off a crossbody, but Stone pulled the referee out of the ring. Stone then shoved Korderas into Marella before sending TNA’s director of authority into the steps. Grace pulled Stone by the hair, but Crawford dropped her with an axe kick. Alisha Edwards then made the pin.

Winners: Robert Stone and Victoria Crawford

Moose vs. Eric Young Booked

Eric Young was with The Northern Armory backstage, and he talked about scoring a victory over The System at “TNA Under Siege.” Moose and JDC approached Young. The TNA X Division Champion suggested a match with Young next week.

Elegance Brand Reveal Ruined

The Personal Concierge was back out. He claimed due to “unfair circumstances,” Ash by Elegance won’t be a part of the new Elegance branding reveal. Heather by Elegance was then introduced. The Personal Concierge then announced that Maggie Lee is known as M by Elegance.

The members of the Elegance brand had a toast before Myla Grace and Harley Hudson intervened. They splashed champagne in the face of M by Elegance.

Steve Maclin (c) vs. Matt Cardona – for the TNA International Championship

Tommy Dreamer approached Steve Maclin before his entrance. He told Maclin to fight for TNA Wrestling. The champion delivered a back elbow to Cardona early on. The challenger was lifted up, and his back went crashing onto the knee of Maclin. Cardona was sent outside of the ring, and Maclin landed a suicide dive under the middle rope.

Maclin then leaped off the apron and hit an elbow drop. Cardona then sent Maclin crashing headfirst into the ring steps. He went for a piledriver on the entrance ramp, but Maclin countered with a backbody drop.

Back in the ring, Cardona was dropped by the Olympic Slam. The champion then delivered a clothesline. Cardona rebounded with a straightjacket takedown. The challenger climbed up the top turnbuckle, but Maclin cut him off. Cardona was planted by a superplex, but he got his shoulder up before the three-count.

Maclin then went high-risk, but Cardona crotched him. Cardona then delivered a boot in the corner twice. He went for a third boot, but Maclin caught his foot this time. The champion hit the Busaiku Knee and then a diving headbutt for a near fall.

Cardona hit the Unprettier, but Maclin kicked out. He grabbed the TNA International Championship, but referee Daniel Spencer grabbed the title. Maclin charged in, but he nearly hit the referee accidentally. Cardona then scored Radio Silence for a close two-count. Maclin caught Cardona in mid-air for a powerbomb. The champion then hit Caught in the Crosshairs, followed by the K.I.A. for the win.

Mike Santana Vows to Win TNA World Championship

Mike Santana was heading out of the arena. He said that while some might think he has a lot to say about Trick Williams being an absentee champion, he’d rather show how he feels on “NXT.” Santana vowed to bring the TNA World Championship back home to close the show.
