TNA iMPACT! After The Bell (7/17/25) – Slammiversary Go-Home
Credit: TNA Wrestling

This TNA iMPACT episode was worthy of the humpy-bumpy road I’ve talked about over the last few weeks. The last of the six episodes that would lead us to TNA Slammiversary was worthy of everything that I could have said before. Most of the matches are signed, and the last words were said.

The preview was clear, this episode is the last stop. This Sunday, in NYC, things will take a phenomenal twist. Let’s Nygma-dive into the episode, as there are some things to say about it (as always).

TNA iMPACT! Results (7/17/25)

  • TNA X-Division Champion Moose (w/Alisha Edwards) defeated Sami Callihan
  • Order 4 (Jason Hotch, John Skyler & Mustafa Ali) vs. The System (Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards & JDC) (w/Alisha Edwards) – No Contest
  • Tessa Blanchard (w/Victoria Crawford) defeated Dani Luna
  • Matt Cardona vs Jake Painter – No Contest
  • Joe Hendry & Mike Santana defeated Frankie Kazarian & TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams

Rabbits in Headlights

The X-Division Champion Moose went one-on-one with Sami Callihan. Callihan hit a Stunner in the early going, but Moose quickly bounced back. Moose puts Callihan away with the Spear to win.

After the match, Moose vowed to defeat Leon Slater and turned his attention back to Sami Callihan, adding insult to injury. He requested Callihan to lace off his boots and put them in the middle of the ring. Nygma says: I think Leon Slater heard the message.

It’s time to shut Moose up. Break another record, kid.

The IInspiration, NXT’s Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, and the Elegance Brand all had something to say. The IInspiration looks to become two-time Knockouts World Tag Team Champions. The Elegance Brand came to the ring when Jacy Jayne was supposed to. Ash said that it should be her challenging for the Knockouts World Title, when Fatal Influence interrupted.

Jacy Jayne argued that Fatal Influence is the most dominant faction today, not the Elegance Brand. TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich joined the fray, went face-to-face with Jayne, and declared victory at Slammiversary. Nygma says: Someone noticed that the TNA Knockouts Championship could cross the line on Sunday?

In the main event, Joe Hendry and Mike Santana joined forces against TNA World Champion Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian. Pretty good match, with nice teamwork. Hendry and Santana grabbed the win, but after the match, Williams, Santana, and Hendry faced off one last time before Slammiversary.

Ants in The Pants

Order 4 vs. The System could not happen “normally.” It didn’t happen at all. As expected, NXT’s Darkstate came and decimated the System.

Nygma says: Darkstate is very much like a 4-person version of the SHIELD. Then, as of today, we have only seen them brawl in the iMPACT Zone.

Dani Luna was confident ahead of her match with Tessa Blanchard, but she came to the ring with the new TNA Knockouts (she officially signed), Victoria Crawford. She got involved from ringside, allowing Blanchard to capitalize with Magnum for three.

After the match, VixTess continued the assault on Luna until Indi Hartwell made the save. Nygma says: We’ll see that on Sunday.

The Northern Armory tried to expose the Home Town Man’s identity, Judas Icarus failed to pin him. Travis Williams clawed at the Home Town Man’s mask from ringside. After the match, the fans protected The Home Town Man from an assault by Eric Young.

Nygma says: That can’t be Cody Deaner

Before his match against Jake Painter, Matt Cardona challenged NXT’s DarkState to meet him in the ring. The bell rang and the lights went out. DarkState assaulted both Matt Cardona and Jake Painter.

Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, and JDC came to the aid of Cardona, as they sent DarkState retreating up the ramp. Nygma says: We have a new match on the card.

Elephants in the Room

Jody Threat checked on Dani Luna in the trainer’s room after the match, but Luna was upset that Threat didn’t come to her aid like Indi Hartwell did. Nygma says: Luna vs Threat in the making?

We heard Mark Sanchez (1972-2019) talking to his son, Mike Santana, on the eve of the biggest match of his career at UBS Arena on Sunday. The final message from a father to his son before his passing. Nygma says: Dad passed away six months ago.

Will this kind of message motivate me? Every one of us has a different answer. Mine is no.

TNA International Champion Steve Maclin is willing to face anyone from any company. Real 1 is not coming alone. He said the names Joshua Bishop and Zilla Fatu (Umaga’s son), but did he say Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows? Nygma says: Real 1 no, the others yes.

The Hardys admitted their shortcomings in recent months and contemplated their retirement if they are unsuccessful this Sunday. Leon Slater challenged them to get out of this slump when First Class interrupted, the Nemeths appeared.

A brawl broke out, with the Rascalz also getting involved. The Hardys cleared the ring with a ladder to stand tall. Nygma says: With the Hardys wanting a last ride in WWE before they retire, I am not that surprised to hear their words.

The Nygma’s Last Word(s)

The AJ Styles announcement is huge, then let’s not forget what happened in the iMPACT Zone. If this episode didn’t make you want to watch Slammiversary, I wouldn’t understand.

All the matches already announced were teased, and the match I was expecting was made. Sami Callihan didn’t deserve to be treated this way, and I wouldn’t mind seeing him interfere in Moose’s match at Slammiversary.

Are the Hardys going to retire? Which match will AJ Styles be involved in? Can the two major TNA belts end on NXT’s side? That’s a lot of elephants in the room…

Have you read all my pieces on Slammiversary matches, Leon Slater, and my interview with Frankie Kazarian? I’ll see you tomorrow for the Slammiversary preview, and all the results on Monday. Till next week, may the Nygma be with you.
