TNA iMPACT Preview (01/01/26) – Happy New TNA Year!

The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

Shortly after he arrived in TNA Wrestling, Bear Bronson seized the opportunity of a lifetime by outlasting 19 competitors in a Battle Royal to become the No. 1 Contender to the TNA World Championship. TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian has Mike Santana waiting for his World Title shot at Genesis on January 17. But before he can look ahead, Kazarian must survive Bear Bronson.

After suffering a tag team loss on the December 18 episode of iMPACT!, Tessa Blanchard, Victoria Crawford, and Mila Moore vowed redemption by issuing an open challenge to the Knockouts locker room. That challenge now takes shape against a trio led by the determined Indi Hartwell, who has made it clear she will not stop until she becomes Knockouts World Champion for the first time.

Joined by the relentless Jody Threat and the rising Jada Stone, Hartwell looks to halt the momentum of Blanchard’s faction and prove her place at the top of the Knockouts division.

Some 2026 good and bad things

After orchestrating a brutal ambush on Elijah with the help of Order 4 on iMPACT, Mustafa Ali made it clear that his war is far from over. But first, standing in his way is the beloved Home Town Man, who brings nothing but heart and unpredictability every time he steps into the iMPACT Zone. Will it be enough to withstand the leader of Order 4?

Following their shocking involvement in the Five-on-Five Steel Cage Match on TNA iMPACT, where Matt Hardy was taken from the IMPACT Zone by The Righteous. Dutch and Vincent are set to gather once again. What message do they have for TNA Wrestling as 2026 begins?

The Elegance Brand returns to the iMPACT Zone to battle one of TNA Wrestling’s most exciting tandems, TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Ying Lee and her longtime ally Xia Brookside. With both teams firmly focused on claiming the Knockouts Tag Team Championship gold, momentum is on the line.

As JDC prepares to face Eddie Edwards in the last match of his storied in-ring career at TNA Genesis, we will hear from The System.

The Nygma’s View

With four matches and two segments, I think the recipe for a good show is there. The road to TNA Genesis 2026 will have a special stop with the first Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC episode two days before the PLE. In 2025, TNA planted some seeds of good omens. In 2026, they will turn into a field of successes.

The TNA World Championship is on the line

Frankie Kazarian puts the TNA World Championship on the line against Bear Bronson. The beginner’s luck worked once, but not twice. Kazarian vs Santana is signed for TNA Genesis, and Nic Nemeth still has a Call Your Shot Gauntlet Cup to cash in. Nygma says: A little bird is telling me AMC could want a World Championship match for the first Thursday Night iMPACT episode.

The Elegance Brand faces the Angel Warriors in what may look like a #1 contender match for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. Léi Ying Lee would only be the fourth Knockout to become a double Knockout Champion. Nygma says: I gave the 2025 Awards to the Elegance Brand because they were the most persistent team. In 2026, I’m 100% Angel Warriors.

The System has some things to say. JDC only has three TNA iMPACT episodes remaining before his last match at TNA Genesis against his “brother” Eddie Edwards. Nygma says: I have no clue what the System wants to say, but JDC deserves a great last ride to the sunset.

What does The Righteous want?

Mila Moore, Tessa Blanchard, and Victoria Crawford against Indi Hartwell, Jada Stone, and Jody Threat. Everything about VixTess deserves not to be talked about. They lie, they cheat, they steal. Period. Nygma says: I have way too much respect for Hartwell, Stone, and Threat not to ask them to take care of the three in the most violent way.

The Righteous have some things to say. Explaining why they kidnapped Matt Hardy would be appreciated. Saying they want a TNA World Tag Team title shot would clear the air. Nygma says: Entering Dutch and Vincent’s minds is something I prevent you from trying. That’s very, very dangerous…

Mustafa Ali faces Cody Deaner’s favourite wrestler, The Home Town Man. If you expect Order 4 to attack or interfere, yes, it will happen. If you want Elijah to come and make the save, yes, it will happen, too. Nygma says: Will another guitar die on a wrestler’s back this week? Poor little wood boys and girls…
