TNA iMPACT Preview (7/31/25) – Rematches And Revenges
Courtesy of TNA Wrestling

The Path to TNA Bound For Glory may be officially on, but there’s an Emergence on the road. On August 15, a new PLE takes place live from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, MD. The cards may be shuffled again, but we have three iMPACT episodes before to set the stage for this.

On the July 29 episode of NXT , TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella stepped back into the ring on WWE NXT to challenge Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship. The contest saw Page use the referee to block the Cobra, strangle Marella’s eyes, and put him away with the Twisted Grin (Page would enjoy the Cobra off air).

Meanwhile, TNA World Champion Trick Williams and The High Ryze assaulted Je’Von Evans following a heated war of words. Both Williams and Evans have their sights set on NXT Champion Oba Femi. Trick Williams would watch on from commentary as Je’Von Evans defeated Wes Lee later in the night.

Marella wanted to bring an NXT title to TNA, but he did not do a Milan Miracle. And it seems like Trick Williams wants to become ‘Trick NXTNA.” Meanwhile, the two major TNA titles are still in the hands of NXT talents. What remains terribly eNYGMAtic…

The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

The System wants to restore order in TNA after losing ground to Superstars from NXT, but they’ll have to go through TNA World Champion Trick Williams and First Class in a big six-man tag team showdown.

After becoming a double champion at Slammiversary, NXT’s Jacy Jayne now faces a furious Masha Slamovich. This will be Masha’s contractually obligated rematch, and with the Knockouts division rallying behind her, Jayne’s reign may be short-lived. Can Fatal Influence tip the scales in Jayne’s favor?

Fresh off a victory over Joe Hendry last week on iMPACT!, Mike Santana speaks for the first time since Slammiversary. With momentum on his side and unfinished business surrounding the TNA World Title picture, what will Santana have to say?

The Nemeths are back in action after losing the TNA World Tag Team Titles at Slammiversary, but The Rascalz are no strangers to the smoke. Both teams will now look to bounce back in a match that could catapult them into the championship conversation.

At just 20 years old, Leon Slater stunned the world at Slammiversary by defeating Moose to become the youngest X-Division Champion in history. But there is no rest for the weary, as Slater now faces a dangerous triple threat test! Cedric Alexander has made his presence since arriving on the scene, while Jason Hotch continues to be one of the most promising up-and-comers in TNA today. Can Slater’s reign survive its first title defense?

After last week’s verbal beatdown from Moose, Sami Callihan will break his silence in an exclusive sit-down interview. As revealed on social media, Callihan is expected to address the future of his career. Could The Death Machine be preparing to walk away?

After appointing herself a “mentor” to Dani Luna, Victoria Crawford went to Santino Marella and made this tag team match official. Indi Hartwell and Dani Luna team up to take on Jody Threat & NXT’s Arianna Grace in Knockouts tag team action.

The Nygma’s View

After the 50-plus minutes of promos last week, it’s good to read that five matches are on the menu, including two title matches. My sources told me about another segment, but I won’t tell you more, even under torture.

Leon Slater will celebrate his X-Division Championship win with a 3-Way first title defence. Cedric Alexander will come alone when Jason Hotch is surrounded by the whole Order 4 faction, including the Security Service. Nygma says: Despite the mess Order 4 could create, Leon Slater will prevail. It would be bad to be the youngest X-Division Championship loser.

Masha Slamovich earned the right to a rematch for the TNA Knockouts World Title as Jacy Jayne didn’t win fairly at Slammiversary. Then, with Fatal Influence by her side, Jayne is obviously a step ahead, but that would mean forgetting someone in the equation. Nygma says: Get ready for hairspray, a hairbrush, and a ton of make-up in a match made to end in a DQ.

The Nemeths will face the Rascalz. If the Nemeths have the right to a rematch after losing the TNA World Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary, the Rascalz will do everything to trip them up on the road to it. Nygma says: Do you see the same smoke that I see?

The System will compete against TNA World Champion NXT’s Trick Williams and First Class. Moose seems to have the World Championship in his sights, so a win here could make him a serious contender for Williams. Even if I have absolute faith in Moose, Eddie Edwards, and JDC to whoop their opponents’ asses, Nygma says: Wasn’t KC Navarro injured? If true, who else could it be?

Poor Dani Luna, as she now has a “mentor” in Victoria Crawford. Her mentor is responsible for this match with Indi Hartwell against her former tag-team partner, Jody Threat, and NXT’s Arianna Grace. Nygma says: “Mentor” is very close to the way we, French, say “liar.”

Mike Santana has some things to say about his Slammiversary loss. There’s no doubt in any fan’s mind that he is not going to back down, especially after all the buzz the company created around him. No need to be Nygma to think he will reassert his World Championship goal.

Sami Callihan was asked to retire. Two weeks ago, Moose tore apart every ounce of faith inside the Death Machine. On social media, Callihan says he will “be making a major announcement” about his career. “It’s time,” he says. Nygma replies: Retire? Never. The Death Machine is not done yet. Thumbs up, thumbs down.

The Slammiversary chapter is not completely closed, even if I wish it could. The Emergence card will more than probably be made in a rush, which wouldn’t be a surprise. I’ll see you on Friday for TNA iMPACT! “After The Bell.” Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
