Here Are Your Key Moments From TNA IMPACT For January 22, 2026

  • Mike Santana comes to the ring to talk to the crowd. He starts by sharing the voicemail his father left him before he passed away, the voicemail telling him how he's earned his place at the top of TNA. He says that when he returned to TNA two years ago, he made a statement to the world that he was coming for the top spot of the company. He said he made sure he gave every single thing he had, because he, the sport, and the fans deserved it. He says every time he failed, he picked himself back up. Whether it was losing in his hometown at Slammiversary, or taking the title back from NXT, he kept fighting. He gives flowers to Frankie Kazarian after their match, and now he's got a major target on his back, but he says he feels the most at home in that position. He says they told him he'd never be the guy, but now he stands here as the face of TNA after earning his way there, and that he belongs there.
  • Nic Nemeth confronts Mike Santana backstage and tells him that he's worried about him having so many targets on his back. Nemeth knows Santana is leading with his heart, but he needs to lead with his head. When Nemeth mentions Santana's daughter, he grabs Nemeth and the two scuffle.
  • Elayna Black comes out to address the crowd, and says that she is the only one to be paying attention to in the Knockouts division, the only one to receive a million views on TNA social media from last week, and is consistently the only one that matters. She says it will be clear next week that she's the one who's next in line for the TNA Knockouts Championship.
  • Bear Bronson is announced as the newest member of The System, replacing the retiring JDC. After he came to the ring, Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers attacked JDC, followed by a surprise attack on Moose, removing him from the group. Cedric Alexander arrived to the ring to stave off Myers and Edwards, only to hit Moose with a chair, aligning with The System.

Jeff Hardy and Mustafa Ali Go Crazy In The Ring

In tonight's main event, Jeff Hardy faced off against Mustafa Ali in what could easily be an early candidate for Match of the Year in TNA. Through multiple falls and great spots, Hardy pulled out a win over Ali.

Jeff Hardy, focused and still on the good path, hasn't appeared to miss too much of the beat as an in-ring performer, and proved once again tonight that he's still got it. Mustafa Ali, however, continues to prove why he is the most deserving performer on the TNA roster, impressive and durable in any spot he's given, one that we're hoping includes a run with the TNA World Championship before year's end.

Trey Miguel Back In TNA After Abrupt AEW Departure

After a tumultuous turnaround over the past week, Trey Miguel is officially back with TNA. During tonight's Feast or Fired match, Tom Hannafin confirmed earlier reporting that Miguel was in talks to rejoin the company after being abruptly released from AEW on Sunday, January 18th, just four days after The Rascalz had signed as a group.

It's a head-spinning turnaround for Miguel, who was reportedly released from AEW after previous homophobic comments he made resurfaced. Although he previously announced that he'd be taking a hiatus from wrestling after the release, he is now back as a full-time performer with TNA, picking up as a singles performer.
