All of this comes from something Mustafa Ali recently said. “Sometimes, you would tell people about TNA, and the first question was: Where can we watch it? That was the number one question. That was the biggest challenge the company faced. I’ve always believed in the locker room, in the talent, and the production team. We just needed to get the right eyes on it.”
This Thursday night, the company debuts its flagship show, iMPACT, on AMC TV, with a potential viewership of 60 million homes in the US. TNA Wrestling finally takes back its rightful place on a major US cable TV channel. It’s time to ensure that no one ever tells Mr. Ali what people asked him before so many times. Let’s Nygma-dive into the portrait of an absolutely unique company.
Founded by Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett in 2002, following the end of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 2001, TNA Wrestling is a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment. From its inception, TNA had been considered the second-largest promotion in the United States behind WWE, a position it would hold for most of the 2000s and early 2010s.
By 2019, the promotion was viewed to have recovered through its sustained international distribution. The purchase by its parent company of AXS TV subsequently began carrying the promotion’s programming. TNA is currently seen as the third-largest wrestling promotion in the United States.
After two years of weekly PPVs, in May 2004, TNA introduced its weekly flagship, iMPACT! With the show’s première, TNA introduced a six-sided wrestling ring, which would later be changed to a classic four-sided one. With the AMC era, the name will become Thursday Night iMPACT. TNA Xplosion is a secondary weekly show. New episodes premiere on Fridays on TNA+, and are uploaded the following Tuesday to TNA’s YouTube channel.
The company has its “Big Four PLEs,” TNA Genesis, TNA Rebellion, TNA Slammiversary, and TNA Bound for Glory. Slammiversary celebrates the anniversary of the promotion’s first event. TNA Bound for Glory was created to serve as the company’s flagship PPV event, similar to WWE’s WrestleMania. Every month, TNA Wrestling airs a live TNA+ Special Event, like Victory Road or Emergence.
Thursday Night iMPACT! airs every Thursday at 9 PM EST on AMC in the USA and Sportsnet in Canada. Replays and additional content are available on AMC Plus in the US. The rest of the world can watch on TNA+.
TNA Xplosion premieres on Fridays on TNA+. It is uploaded on the following Tuesday to TNA’s YouTube channel. All TNA PLEs and Special Events air on TNA+.

In 2025, TNA Wrestling announced a groundbreaking, multi-year partnership with WWE and its NXT brand. WWE stars can appear on TNA programming, and TNA stars appear on WWE shows. They can also hold titles from the other promotion.
One of the cornerstones of TNA is the popular X Division, known for its high-flying, high-risk matches. The X Division has long carried a simple slogan: “It’s not about weight limits … it’s about no limits.”
TNA Wrestling has its unique matches. The Ultimate X is the signature match of the X Division. The Call Your Shot Gauntlet match allows the winner to earn a future Championship match (for the title, and at the time of their choosing) in the year to come. The Monsters Ball and Barbed Wire Massacre matches are epic hardcore bouts, with no disqualification and the usage of weapons encouraged.
Another prominent feature of TNA Wrestling is its Women’s division, affectionately known as the Knockouts Division, which has spotlighted the skills of such legends as Mickie James, Awesome Kong, Gail Kim, Angelina Love, and Velvet Sky, among others.
TNA Wrestling has long been recognized for its captivating characters and adrenaline-pumping action. “Nobody does professional wrestling like TNA.” Now, it’s your time to cross the line.
