TNA Wrestling star Mustafa Ali revealed yesterday in an interview that he had re-signed with the company. He will be a part of the Thursday Night iMPACT premiere on AMC next week. Ali is also set to face Elijah at TNA Genesis, the first PLE of the year, on January 17.
“Just a few days ago, I officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling,” Ali said. “TNA. Mustafa Ali. AMC. Yeah, so breaking news. I have re-signed, and I’m very, very happy with that. TNA management, Carlos [Silva], Tommy [Dreamer], everybody, top to bottom, has just been very supportive. I don’t want to say they see the vision, I bring them this idea, and I’ve earned it, I feel like, but there’s so much trust from them.”
“I know other people like security; they like the people they work with, your bosses, I get that. I’m a little unique, and this might sound arrogant. I’m just being honest. I feel like the little time thing with the sand in it, the hourglass. The hourglass you turn, I have nightmares about that. I feel like I’ve done so much in the game, but I’ve never really transcended to the next level. And the question is constantly, why? Why doesn’t Ali resonate at that level?
“People bring up cool stuff I’ve done all the time. I’m not satisfied yet, so to me, the investment and the decision weren’t just how do I take care of my family, but it’s like how do I make sure that I maximize whatever time I have left in my career. I’m not the oldest guy out there, but I’m not the youngest either. So I have this thought process in this battle against time.
“So that was a huge factor in my decision that this investment of time if I’m going to give this company another X amount of years or months or whatever the agreement is that we have. I want to make sure that I’m on the field, that I’m able to make a play, and that’s not a knock on anybody else. It’s just me personally speaking. I know my time here is going to be well spent.”
Fortunately, Ali’s time in TNA has been well spent so far, from his perspective, with TNA creative team member Tommy Dreamer often backing Ali’s ideas and letting them play out. “I’m just gonna give him a shout out specifically because he’s the guy that I deal with the most, but Tommy, I have an idea, and sometimes he’s not with it, but I go, ‘Tommy, I believe in this.’ And he goes, “All right.” Like we’ll see. He’s like, ‘But you better believe if you’re wrong, I’m going to tell you that you’re wrong.’ I go, ‘As long as I’m right, you tell me I’m right. 100% of the time I’m right.”

Ali made his TNA debut in January 2024 through a vignette promising to bring his presidential-like campaign to TNA. In his official in-ring debut, Ali then dethroned Chris Sabin as X-Division Champion, cementing himself as a serious player. Ali’s reign spanned 148 days. Ali’s initial TNA run wrapped up shortly after, as well as after Nic Nemeth defeated him on TNA iMPACT.
In January 2025, Ali returned to TNA, intending to secure its World Championship. That goal ultimately hasn’t materialized yet, though Ali did follow through with his intention to lead something through the formation of Order 4. An accomplished pro wrestling veteran, Ali is determined to take his career to the next level, with his friends by his side.
“The group that I’m with, Order 4, Jason Hotch, John Skyler, Tasha Steelz, Agent Zero, they’ve all done some cool stuff. Now you can see that, a year in, the group is really firing on creativity. When Tommy put this group together, he had it with the idea, “I want them to have the fire that you do and the creativity.” It’s one of those things where I’m in a very unique position where experience helps with that. It’s so gratifying on so many levels.”

After years of its weekly television show airing on AXS TV, TNA Impact will begin a new era, now airing on the AMC Network beginning next week. Securing the new television deal was a company priority, and it will now put the TNA product in significantly more homes.
“I think my biggest concern all the time with TNA was like, man, how do we get more eyes here? I understand we have the app. I don’t understand that we were on AXS TV. Sometimes, you would tell people about TNA, and the first question was, where can we watch it? That’s the number one question. That was, I would say, the biggest challenge the company faced. I’ve always believed in the locker room, in the talent, and the production. We just needed to get the right eyes on it.
“So now with the AMC deal, I’m very excited about what the possibilities are, not just with more eyes on it, but with what potential crossovers could happen. AMC is a huge network with big shows. So you just never know if there’s a big premiere coming up, are they going to send some cool talent or some cool actors to TNA? And vice versa. Is there a TNA superstar who’s going to show up on a huge AMC show? That’s another thing that’s really exciting about this partnership, but we’ll have to see.”
One thing is sure. In Ali, we trust, and AMC can trust Ali to be one of the most inspired spokespersons in the brand new era of TNA Wrestling. And it begins next week.
