Tony Khan Responds To The Boys’ Statement About Their AEW Release

Tony Khan stands by what he said regarding The Boys’ AEW release.

AEW released The Boys, also known as Brandon and Brent Tate, in a wave of cuts on April 1. Tony Khan subsequently said that they were released after they no-showed at work multiple times. The Boys then issued a statement and said that they were told their releases were due to budget cuts. They also cited travel issues in response to Khan’s statement.

At the ROH Supercard of Honor post-show media call, Tony Khan was asked about The Boys’ statement.

“I have not seen their exact statement,” Tony Khan said. “After the show, I heard a little bit of this as I was coming back. I stand by what I said, and also, I’ve only owned ROH for two years. There’s a long history of ROH, and it was my call to bring them back. I like their presentation with Dalton, and I like them both personally, I’ve had a lot of good experiences with them.”

Tony Khan: I’m Going Off My Experiences

Tony Khan continued by stating that he would be open to working with The Boys again. He cited past issues with The Boys that he had been told about and noted that he was also going off his own experiences.

“I would be open to working with them again in the future, but there have been times where they came and have done great things for u,” Tony Khan said. “We did the House Rules tour, and I loved having them.

“They’ve been a lot of the Saturdays, but there have been some times [in] my era of ROH, and I’ve been told, from the company I inherited, other times in the past, and I’m just going off my experiences. I did talk about that and confirm. I think there’s two sides to that story, but I appreciate you asking about it. I heard [what they said] and I’m not moved.”
