Top WWE Star Makes Concerning Admission Over Creative
Via IMAGN

WWE's creative team was questioned throughout 2025, and Charlotte Flair's comments about how she was handled after WrestleMania 41 have only further raised concerns. The Queen lost to Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, last April.

Charlotte Flair on Lack of Creative Plan

Charlotte has suggested WWE didn't know what to do with her after her loss to Stratton and this is how she entered a tag team storyline with former rival Alexa Bliss. She opened up about the state of play coming out of Mania while speaking to clutchpoints.com:

"I wrote the essay, and then Lexi [Alexa Bliss] had been pitching to partner with me and I had been such an isolated character for so long. And then Evolution happened. I couldn’t have planned it better. I had just gotten to a point where they had no creative for me after WrestleMania. What was next was to, I don’t know, rebuild. And like [John] Cena said, ‘Don’t be perfect, be you.’"

Charlotte has regained fan support during her tag team run with Bliss after years of scrutiny over being constantly booked in the world title picture. The pair are recognized as the duo who made the Women's World Tag Team Championships the most prestigious they have ever been during their 100-day reign.

The 39-year-old admitted there were reservations over having her team with Bliss because they were two contrasting characters:

"We just got to a point where it was like, This feels really good, and it would feel really bad if we break them up, because it’s one thing to have odd couples, but I also think there was a little bit of hesitation because she [Bliss] is so beloved, whereas my character, at that point, was not. It was like, Will this even work or translate? And it did. I think our real-life chemistry was able to shine on-camera, and then as we were connecting, it’s like, Why would we break them up?"

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss Win WWE Women's Tag Team Championships At SummerSlam

Charlotte and Bliss' tag team has breathed new life into the 14-time women's world champion, giving her character a more relatable feel with fans. But her comments about WWE's creative team having no plans for her after her WrestleMania loss is a major talking point.

WWE Creative Must Take a Long-Term Planning Approach

Charlotte's feud with Stratton was heated, becoming genuinely personal after they exchanged unscripted digs during a promo segment. But she put the champion over at the Show of Shows before WWE were stuck figuring out what was next for the daughter of Ric Flair.

This is worrying because Charlotte remains one of the company's top stars, and the creative team should have plans for a superstar of her caliber. She is viewed by many as the women's version of Roman Reigns, given her dominance since arriving on the main roster in 2015.

Charlotte plays the role of an unstoppable veteran well, but her storyline with Bliss has allowed the audience to get invested in her suffering setbacks. Keeping her away from the world title picture should continue, but with the long-term in mind.

Perhaps building up a dominant champion, such as Jade Cargill, for the Queen to eventually return to the throne after a lengthy period of climbing back to the top of the mountain. She can also help put the younger generation, such as Sol Ruca, who is set to be called up soon.
