2025 is the year of WWE oversaturation. Just days after a "Saturday Night's Main Event" special that saw the likes of John Cena and CM Punk in action, plus the returns of Bronson Reed and Cody Rhodes, the promotion is already gearing up for its next major show on June 7 with the "Money in the Bank" PLE.
Heading into Monday, only one bout for the show was finalized, with plenty of qualifiers still to take place for the men's and women's ladder matches. The card is finally taking shape, with a somewhat surprising showdown scheduled for the fan-favorite show.
Just hours before the start of "Monday Night Raw," Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria announced during a clip for WWE's social media that she'll square off with Becky Lynch at MITB. "I can promise you one thing: the result's going to be the same," Valkyria said.

This exact match logic is why the product has been stale since "WrestleMania 41." Valkyria pinned Lynch at "Backlash," and although it wasn't a clean victory, it should've been enough to move on in kayfabe.
Lynch hasn't earned a title shot, and if all it takes is to insult the champion to get one, then everyone on the roster should be jockeying for mic time in order to progress their careers. The lazy booking is getting tiresome, and the lack of continuity has plagued the overall programming.
Even with the substandard storyline, the pair of Irish brawlers will likely tear the house down and put together an excellent technical showcase.
