Everyone saw what happened with Seth Rollins during his match with LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event over the weekend. ‘The Visionary’ ended up twisting his right knee while performing an airborne maneuver on his opponent. Since it wasn’t a work, an audible had to be called on the spot, which resulted in Knight’s victory. It wasn’t the original plan.

Rollins was helped to the back by a couple of staffers, and the Iowa native was absolutely fuming at his fate. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H provided an update on ‘The Visionary’ during the Evolution PLE post-show presser. Hunter said the situation is still too inconclusive to draw a conclusion, but added that it doesn’t look good.

And I’m sure somebody here would ask about Seth. I would say a little bit inconclusive. Doesn’t look good. We’re in Birmingham tomorrow. He came here tonight; he was not going to miss his wife’s [Becky Lynch] performance tonight. He was here, and he’ll be in Birmingham tomorrow with Dr. (Jeffrey) Dugas. We’ll get an MRI, hope for the best, and see where we can go with that.

Levesque confirmed that Rollins was backstage last night to support his wife, Becky Lynch. She successfully retained her Women’s Intercontinental title against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria . Moving on to an important development on Rollins’ current injury scare, ‘The Game’ revealed that he’s slated for an MRI in Birmingham. Fightful noted that the Chicago Bears’ superfan was spotted on crutches backstage at the Evolution PLE in Atlanta.

This isn’t the first time Rollins’ knees have let him down. In fact, they might’ve started regressing in strength since a November 2015 incident during a live event in Dublin. Back then, ‘The Architect’ tore his MCL, ACL, and medial meniscus after botching a sunset flip powerbomb on Kane. The injury kept Rollins off the road for almost seven months.

Moreover, he was forced to relinquish his WWE title and had to miss WrestleMania 32. In fact, last year, after WrestleMania 40, he underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus and had wrestled on both nights of Mania while being hurt.

How will Seth Rollins’ current situation affect WWE storylines?

In the aforementioned Seth Rollins’ address of Triple H, the latter also announced a Gauntlet match for Raw. It’ll see CM Punk, LA Knight, Bron Breakker, Penta, and Jey Uso battling it out to earn the right to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.

If Rollins is going to be sidelined for a long time, it will have a domino effect on a number of storylines in WWE. First and foremost, what will happen to the Money in the Bank contract remains to be seen. Fans are speculating that in case he has to step away from the spotlight, Rollins might pass the MITB briefcase on to one of his two henchmen, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

Secondly, it was rumored that Rollins’ power trio was set to take on a returning Roman Reigns in some capacity at SummerSlam. But, as things stand, it doesn’t seem likely anymore. ‘The OTC’ was beaten up by Breakker on Raw after WrestleMania, and he hasn’t come back since then. Reigns was believed to take his revenge upon returning.

How Seth Rollins’ injury woes are a mirror image of Liv Morgan’s?

The injury bug has claimed two of WWE’s biggest stars within a span of a month. A few days ago, Liv Morgan had her shoulder dislocated during a match with Kairi Sane on Raw. It happened merely weeks after she had returned from a filming commitment in Tokyo. Morgan’s comeback was pivotal in advancing the Roxanne Perez integration into the Judgment Day.

They even went back and forth for a while over Dominik Mysterio, and this storyline had started to captivate the audience. However, just when the arc needed her the most, the former Riott Squad member got sidelined for 6-9 months. Likewise, Seth Rollins had been controlling the balance of power on the red brand since WrestleMania.

With Paul Heyman in his ears, ‘The Architect’ recruited Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed to forge an alliance that only brought chaos and destruction to the roster. However, the latest injury setback to Rollins will unfortunately need a ton of pivoting from the course they were following.
