United States title match added to WWE SmackDown

A title match has been added to the WWE SmackDown card for tonight.

The United States title will be on the line tonight with LA Knight defending against Santos Escobar. The episode is taking place live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Knight held a U.S. title open challenge last Friday that ended up being answered by Berto of Legado Del Fantasma. Despite a pre-match attack, Knight defeated Berto to remain champion. Escobar cut a promo today claiming that he was going to answer Knight’s challenge last week, but he looked into Knight’s eyes and could see he was afraid of facing Escobar.

Escobar promised to become the new United States Champion.

Knight has held the U.S. title since August and has already made one successful title defense against Escobar during his reign.

Also added to tonight’s show is a tag match with Bayley & Naomi facing Tiffany Stratton & Candice LeRae.
