Who does UNLV miss on the Mountain West schedule?

Fresno State, San Diego State, San Jose State

These are three nice teams to miss.

If San Diego State is back to being dangerous after a rough season, missing it is a good thing. Not dealing with Fresno State is always a plus, and San Jose State should be almost as good as last year.

UNLV football schedule, the good and the bad

The Good: The start of the Dan Mullen era has a strange group of winnable road games to deal with. Sam Houston, Miami University, and Wyoming - three of the first five games are away from Vegas. All are winnable.

Three of the first four games in November are at home, the team only leaves Nevada once after October 18th, and ...

The Bad: At Boise State. Overall the Mountain West schedule isn't awful, but there aren't two home games at home for two months. In the middle of it all is a date at Boise State that might make-or-break the conference season.

The other three conference road games - Colorado State, Nevada, and Wyoming - are all sneaky tough.

UNLV Football Schedule: Best and worst case scenarios

Best Case Scenario: The Rebels get rolling right away, and that includes a win over UCLA to make a big national splash. That's it, by the way, for the games against Power Four programs.

There's a loss somewhere along the way - like, at Boise State - but that's it. The team that made such great strides last year rolls through the rest of the Mountain West.

Worst Case Scenario: UCLA is an early loss, and the Rebels don't have quite the same attitude and production of last year. It slips at Wyoming in the tough environment, doesn't get it done against Boise State, and stubs its toe at Colorado State.

Season Prediction: (Feb 21) Just how much does UNLV need to rebuild, reload, and prove that it can keep it all going after a regime change? There will be a few more close fights than the team would like, but outside of the Boise State trip, there will be a few other misses, but not a ton. A nine-win season is a must.

The Season Prediction will be updated several times this offseason
