Update emerges on Hulk Hogan after alarming deathbed talk
Kevin Whitlock / Massillon Independent / USA TODAY NETWORK

Hulk Hogan was hospitalized this week, but a new report says any talk of the WWE legend fighting for his life is completely inaccurate.

According to TMZ, Hogan has been receiving medical treatment to address lingering back and neck issues. A representative for Hogan said the 71-year-old has been dealing with similar issues for years and is already starting to feel better.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, underwent a neck procedure last month that was said to be successful. He has had numerous surgeries over the years to address ailments related to his lengthy career in wrestling.

Concern for Hogan arose on Tuesday when longtime radio personality Bubba The Love Sponge Clem, who was once friends with Hogan, claimed on his show that Hulk was in the hospital dealing with some sort of life-threatening condition.

“If you did some sniffing around, you might find him in a hospital near you. And it’s not good,” Clem said. “I got some pretty reliable information last night that there are phone calls being made to various family members about getting to town to come say your goodbyes. … Allegedly, Hogan is in a hospital and I’ve heard people say that he might not make it.”

Clem said his sources were “pretty damn reliable” but left open the possibility that something had changed from Monday evening into Tuesday.

Hogan and Clem have a long and ugly history with one another, so many people doubted whether Bubba the Love Sponge would have accurate information about the former heavyweight champion.

Fans of Hogan will be happy to hear that the Hulkster is said to be on the mend.
