Kenny Omega continues to progress in his recovery from abdominal surgery, but there is still no expected date for his AEW in-ring return. A potentially life-threatening bout with diverticulitis forced Omega out of action in December 2023. He underwent surgery this May and his condition has been improving since. In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared the latest on Omega’s recovery. Meltzer writes that Omega still has some pain, but he’s been able to train with moderate intensity. Omega cannot take bumps in the ring yet and there is no estimate for when he’ll be back wrestling: Regarding Kenny Omega, he still has some pain but he is training with moderate intensity.
