A rumor regarding the future of one WWE superstar has been put to rest.
Recent news of WWE talent releases has had many on edge. The likes of Sonya Deville, Carmella, Blair Davenport, and Authors of Pain are no longer under WWE contract. Some feared that a former "Friday Night SmackDown" champion would be the latest WWE superstar departure.
Fans have been speculating if anything is going on with Shinsuke Nakamura behind the scenes. Prior to losing the WWE United States Championship to LA Knight on the March 7 episode of "WWE SmackDown," Nakamura hadn't wrestled since the "Royal Rumble" PLE on Feb. 1. WWE did run vignettes for Nakamura throughout his in-ring absence.
A popular rumor that had been floating around claimed that "The King of Strong Style" is on his way out of WWE. Fightful reports that those in WWE haven't heard about Nakamura leaving the company.
Nakamura had a stretch where he was mostly used for untelevised events before starting a feud with Knight. Nakamura defeated Knight to capture the United States gold at "Survivor Series 2024." He didn't defend his title until the Jan. 10 episode of "WWE SmackDown" in a rematch with Knight. The match ended via disqualification due to interference.
With Knight being on his way to "WrestleMania 41" as the WWE United States Champion, many are questioning if Nakamura will be involved in this year's event. There is no clear indication of what WWE's creative team will have for Nakamura going forward.
