'Vince was so obsessed with me,' Mercedes Mone confirms divorce rumors, reveals why she didn’t notify anyone publicly

Mercedes Mone is moving on in her life. Having been rumored to be filing for divorce from her husband, Sarath Thon, the AEW TBS Champion has set the record straight. She has published a detailed video on her YouTube channel explaining the ins and outs of the situation that’s been years in the making. She confirmed that she’s all set to finally sign her divorce papers.

One might wonder whether she has already completed the formalities or hasn’t just yet. Nonetheless, it should be soon. Apparently, their split was amicable. Mone had nothing but gratitude for her ex-husband, saying that she’s another person who saved her life. As opposed to the contrary, this separation didn’t come out of the blue. Instead, as confirmed by Mercedes Mone herself, she’d been away from Thon for years.

They’ve been separated since December 2021, said the AEW star. One of the major reasons she didn’t put that out in the public domain is her bogey with former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. At that point, the ex- Sasha Banks was en route to headline WrestleMania 37 against Bianca Belair . In the lead-up to it, she was involved in a heated rivalry with Carmella.

Mercedes didn’t want all of that to be scrapped, presumably by McMahon, had he been made cognizant of her real-life issues. Mone claimed that Vince was so obsessed with her and the on-screen partner she had for quite a while, Reginald.

He was so into the storyline that Banks just trucked through everything. She was even filming The Mandalorian back then. Having so much on her plate, she and her then-husband decided to keep their divorce a secret. Their lawyer deferred the legal proceedings. The former couple couldn’t really do anything.

The Boss is having a blast in AEW. That’s her happy place now that she’s acclimatized to their modus operandi. She recently claimed responsibility for a secret meeting that no one saw coming. The leaked picture of Tony Khan and Shane McMahon is all over the internet right now.

One couldn’t help but think of it as a publicity stunt. Adding a flavor of her own, The Blueprint took to X and said she’d taken that pic. Although Mone didn’t outright mention anything, it was way too obvious what she was referring to.

For the unversed, Mercedes had bumped into Shane-O-Mac in June at an airport as they were about to board their respective flights. Something must’ve been exchanged between the two. It was just after the Double or Nothing pay-per-view had concluded.
