Prior to the match, Belair's tag team partner Naomi was attacked by a returning Jade Cargill. Cargill was attacked months ago by a mystery person, and it turned out that Naomi was the one that kept Cargill out of action.

Belair will now await the winner of Monday night's women's championship match between Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.
The winner of that match will have to defend her championship against Belair at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

What teams are asking about Commanders’ Brian Robinson Jr. amid trade interest
After reports surrounding Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr.’s imminent exit amid trade interest, that notion was confirmed this week. Coach Dan Quinn confirmed the Commanders’ plans for Robinson Jr. as he was also inactive in Monday’s 31-17 preseason loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. After the loss, Quinn released a statement that the Commanders and Robinson Jr. would be going their separate ways, which means a potential trade should be coming down the pike soon, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. “Brian Robinson Jr. did not play, and Dan Quinn pretty much, confirming that they’re going to move on from Robinson here,” Garafolo said. “He is set to make a total of $3.5 million per this season in the final year of his deal. So, it’s looking like a potential trade. Both sides agreed he’s not going to play to play in that game to keep a trade alive — didn’t want him to get hurt in that case.” Still, there isn’t an apparent reason why the Commanders are actively shopping Robinson Jr. for potential suitors. “I know there’s interest because, as I’ve reported this, I’ve heard from teams that are saying, “What happened there?” How did he fall out of favor? Does he want a new contract? Yeah, I mean, eventually he does,” Garafolo added. “But this is a contract year, and right now, given this situation, my understanding is he wants the best possible situation for him to have the best possible season to set him up for a payday this offseason as a free agent. “So, right now, all about fit for Brian Robinson. I believe he’s going to have a new home. If it’s not via trade and they got to cut him, he’ll have a new home in short order,” Garafolo concluded. Dan Quinn hints at Brian Robinson Jr’s Commanders exit The plans to sit Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. against the Bengals only fueled trade interest until head coach Dan Quinn’s public interest confirmed suspicion. “There’s just a lot of moving parts this time of year,” Quinn said via a team transcript. “Those things take place. And so I just wanted to make sure that’s my responsibility to let the team know whenever I can, so they’re not hearing any information from anywhere else. So that was all more of the standard operating procedure for me.” Quinn added that he has too much respect for Robinson Jr. to reveal what led to the Commanders’ decision to part ways with their veteran running back.

Steelers undrafted rookie reportedly upset Mike Tomlin before being cut
The Pittsburgh Steelers surprisingly had a few quality undrafted free agents during 2025 training camp and preseason, as many of them have put up an actual fight to make it to the 53-man roster. Unfortunately, there is very little room on the team, so some very tough decisions will have to be made on that front. Guys like Max Hurleman and JJ Galbreath have been stating their case throughout camp and into gameday, giving the coaching staff a good problem. One decision was surprisingly easy, however. During his weekly Q A chat, insider Ray Fittipaldo was asked about undrafted rookie Roc Taylor and why he was let go right after the preseason Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spoke about something that happened right before that contest. "[Roc Taylor] actually got in Tomlin's doghouse at the joint practice," Fittipaldo said. "Not sure if that's the sole reason he was cut, but maybe part of it." Fittipaldo would not expand on what happened, but head coach Mike Tomlin saw enough of the rookie before gameday. It looked like Taylor would at least get first dibs on a practice-squad spot if he was released on roster cutdown day, but now, it seems like his chance of developing in Pittsburgh is gone entirely. Now, he is just hoping someone gives him a call for a chance to be on a practice squad elsewhere. It seemed like Taylor's stock was rising after preseason Week 2. Hurleman had a very rough game, and the former Memphis Tigers standout had three receptions for 39 yards against the Bucs. He was the second-leading receiver on the team, only behind Roman Wilson. It looked like he was forcing himself onto a roster spot, but apparently, Tomlin might have just been waiting until after the game to tell him to pack his bags and try again somewhere else. Steelers' Recent Receiver Issues Make Taylor Cut Even More Concerning What makes this decision even more rough is the fact that the Steelers have three receivers who are not healthy at all. Calvin Austin III is trying to return after missing multiple weeks of practice with an injury, Ben Skowronek recently developed a toe issue and utility man Jonnu Smith has barely participated in practice since July. Spots were opening up for undrafted rookies to take, but Taylor may have said or done something inexcusable enough to lose that chance. The Steelers entered training camp with questionable wide receiver depth, and now it's only more concerning. Wilson's recent development has been the bright spot of the preseason at that position, as Scotty Miller has been taking over the role of WR3 since the game against Tampa Bay. That's why they brought in another possibly injured veteran, Gabe Davis, for a visit, and now they may be hoping that he does not sign elsewhere. Instead of Taylor taking the opportunity to push for a roster spot, guys like Hurleman and Brandon Johnson will be looking to make the team and stick around as numerous players recover from their injuries. With Davis having another visit on Wednesday and the Steelers playing in the preseason finale on Thursday, he most likely will not be signed until after that game. That means the bubble players can prove to the team that they don't need him. It's not public in regards to what Taylor did to get himself in trouble, but he could have had this prime opportunity to be on an active roster as an undrafted rookie. He could have easily been above Hurleman and Johnson on the depth chart. Instead, he is just hoping he makes any team's practice squad now.
Johan Oviedo returns for Pirates to face Blue Jays
Right-hander Johan Oviedo will get another chance to stick in Pittsburgh's rotation on Wednesday afternoon when he makes his second start of the season for the host Pirates against the Toronto Blue Jays. Oviedo (0-0, 18.00 ERA) will oppose Toronto right-hander Chris Bassitt (11-6, 4.22) in the decisive game of a three-game series. It will be Oviedo's first start since Aug. 4 when he made a brief return to the majors after sitting out more than a year following Tommy John surgery. Oviedo pitched only one inning against the San Francisco Giants that day and struggled, throwing 43 pitches and allowing two runs on two hits and three walks despite striking out three. He was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis the next day. Over the past two weeks, Oviedo made two starts at Triple-A and threw 8 2/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned), six hits and three walks while striking out 15. "He went down and handled what he needed to with the competitiveness that he consistently shows," Pirates manager Don Kelly said on Tuesday. "I'm just really proud of the way he handled that because it's not easy to do. Going through that whole journey to get back here, and then you pitch one inning and it doesn't go the way you planned and you find yourself back in Triple-A." Oviedo, who has a 13-25 career record and made 58 starts and 72 appearances overall before being sidelined following the 2023 season, was projected to open the 2025 campaign in the Pirates' rotation. However, a lat injury in spring training delayed his return by months. Oviedo is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two career starts against Toronto. Pittsburgh will need to make a roster move to clear space for his recall from the minors prior to the Wednesday game. Oviedo will face a Toronto lineup that regained its form on Tuesday during a 7-3 win. Alejandro Kirk and George Springer each homered for the Blue Jays, who hold a five-game lead in the American League East. Toronto manager John Schneider said that Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who sat out on Tuesday after exiting the Monday game with left hamstring tightness, was feeling better. However, it's likely the first baseman will not return to the lineup on Wednesday. "It was just inflammation, which is good," Schneider said before the Tuesday game about the results of the MRI Guerrero underwent earlier in the day. On the mound, Bassitt will be looking for his first win since July 23 against the New York Yankees. He is entering what could be a crucial start as he tries to retain a spot in the rotation with the team debut of Shane Bieber looming on Friday. Bassitt last pitched on Friday against the Texas Rangers in Toronto. He allowed three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out four over five innings. Bassitt left with a no-decision in a game Toronto eventually won 6-5. Bassitt, who is 8-0 with a 2.73 ERA in 14 starts at home, has been a far different pitcher away from Toronto. On the road, he is 3-6 with a 6.39 ERA in 11 starts and one relief appearance. Bassitt, however, is a perfect 4-0 for his career with a 2.10 ERA in five starts against the Pirates.

Parma suffered a total disaster after their new signing Matija Frigan tore the anterior cruciate ligament in training, meaning he’ll be out for several months. A statement from the club confirmed the worst case scenario for their brand new player, who sustained the devastating knee injury during this morning’s session. Parma will miss Frigan for 4-6 months He was diagnosed with a sprain of the left knee, with tests later showing the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. This type of injury requires surgery and generally between four to six months on the sidelines. It’s a terrible blow for the 22-year-old Croatian centre-forward, but even more so for the Ducali, who now need to go back on the transfer market to find a replacement. Frigan had just been purchased last Friday from KVC Westerlo for €9m plus another €1m in add-ons. He was a big investment for their attack and now will be out of action until at least 2026.
