Watch: Major title match outcome gets affected after female referee gets knocked out during the match at Bad Blood

It wasn’t meant to be for Bayley, who failed to wrestle away the women’s title from Nia Jax at Bad Blood. Just like SummerSlam, Tiffany Stratton ‘s theatrics were the common denominations that cost the erstwhile Hugger. Right at the business end of that rusty affair, a female referee was also knocked out. Once the bell rang, Jax started off hot, keeping Bayley on the backfoot for a while.

Adding new wrinkles to her repertoire, Nia kept coming up with something every time the challenger tried to resist. However, using agility to her advantage, the ex-Damage CTRL leader started to build momentum. The champ reversed a powerbomb attempt from Bayley, driving the latter into the mat with a Belly-to-Belly slam.

However, she kicked out. Moments later, the 35-year-old dropped her elbow from the top rope on Nia, only for the Adelaide-born wrestler to power out. The two slugged it out at ringside, using steel steps and more as weapons. Showing unreal upper body strength, Bayley planted Nia Jax with a Samoan Drop. Further, these women inadvertently took out the referee, Jessica Carr.

Just then, Tiffany Stratton came running down that aisle. She tried to initiate a cash-in, but Nia caught her. After a brief halt, the match ending escalated rather quickly. Nestled at ringside, Tiffany distracted Bayley by throwing her Money in the Bank briefcase at The Role Model. Caught in the moment, Bayley was doomed.

Jax made full use of that little window to execute a middle role Samoan Drop followed by the Annihilator on Bayley to retain at Bad Blood. Despite winning the match, Nia wasn’t happy. She took her title and walked away, seemingly disgusted at Stratton’s run-in. Meanwhile, the latter too appeared to be despondent at the failed attempt.
