WWE star Zoey Stark suffered a serious injury during a match Monday night on Raw. While an official update on her condition hasn't been offered by WWE, early indications suggest a knee injury. In fact, it looks like she blew out her knee, had to be carried back, and couldn't continue in the Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifier.
Damn, looks like Zoey Stark blew her knee out!#WWERAWpic.twitter.com/wmGLzC08sj— The Movement - Pro Wrestling (@TheMovementXx) May 20, 2025
The incident occurred when Stark attempted a high-risk missile dropkick from the top rope—a move that unfortunately ended in a painful landing. It appeared Kairi Sane was too far away from Stark, who stretched out to hit the move. In landing, Stark's knee buckled underneath her.
The referee briefly halted the match as medical staff and the cameras cut away while officials checked on Stark’s condition.
After several minutes, she was assisted to the back, unable to leave the ring under her own power. Rhea Ripley and Sane continued the match in a one-on-one situation. Ripley pulled out the win and qualified for the Money in the Bank women's ladder match.
The injury was not part of a storyline.
A serious knee injury is particularly disheartening for Stark, who has battled through previous injuries during her WWE career. Michael Cole referenced her previous knee issues during the show. In November 2021, she was sidelined for months due to a torn ACL and meniscus. If this is bad, the hope is that it doesn't hinder a potential comeback.
The timing of this injury could significantly affect Stark’s trajectory, as she was finally getting a chance to wrestle again on the main roster and trying to become a regular fixture on Raw.
We send our thoughts to Stark and hope the injury looks much worse than it is. Unfortunately, it didn't look good, and photos on social media show how badly the knee contorted. The risks in professional wrestling are real, and the dangers involved are no joke. Stark has landed the missile dropkick move successfully many times in the past. The consequences can be severe when something goes wrong, as it did here.
