This year’s Halloween Havoc saw an unexpected but welcome title change. Tatum Paxley won the NXT Women’s Championship over Jacy Jayne. However, things within The Culling haven’t exactly been happy since then. Paxley wants every woman to get an opportunity to compete for the title, even defending it three nights later, which ended in a no-contest. Izzi Dame isn’t happy about that, since she could easily lose the title if she isn’t careful.
On the November 11, 2025, episode of NXT, Dame tried to talk some sense into her, wanting her to be smart about giving others opportunities. Jayne came out and wanted a rematch, which Paxley granted for next week at NXT Gold Rush. Dame, however, didn’t look pleased with that decision. Is she saying this to be Paxley’s friend, or does she want her to fail so she could get the title herself potentially?
Paxley arrived at the Performance Center in August 2021. She has spent the past four years working hard to get a championship opportunity. It came at Halloween Havoc, and she certainly didn’t waste it. To the delight of the fans and The Culling, she became NXT Women’s Champion. Dame saw how hard she had to work to make her dream come true. She isn’t warning her about giving out title shots because she wants her to lose. Instead, she’s saying this in support of her friend.
Losing the title so soon after this monumental journey to get it in the first place would be a tragedy. Dame doesn’t want to see Paxley go through that, which is why she’s giving her that lecture. She wants to ensure she has a great title reign. Paxley deserves to be NXT Women’s Champion, which is why Dame is looking out for her.
Before winning the title, there was an odd sequence between Paxley and Dame. With the title in hand, Dame ran towards Paxley and Jayne. Paxley ducked, ensuring the title hit Jayne. That allowed her to win and capture the NXT Women’s Championship. However, it was never confirmed who Dame was able to hit. Niko Vance and Shawn Spears celebrated with Paxley, but Dame stayed outside for a while. It was also noticeable that Dame wanted to persuade her to make smart choices. Jayne called her out, saying Paxley is the champion and not her.
The tone and body language make it clear that she isn’t happy with Paxley’s behavior. She wants her to learn her lesson about giving out title shots, which is why a betrayal is coming sooner rather than later. For Paxley to take her current situation seriously, she’ll have to face her, title or no title.
Heading into next week’s battle at NXT Gold Rush, Paxley is feeling confident. She thinks giving Jayne another shot at the NXT Women’s Championship is the right decision. However, Dame didn’t know her actions were the right thing to do, with her apprehension making sense. Paxley has gone on a long journey to become NXT Women’s Champion finally. Four years of hard work finally paid off at Halloween Havoc. Losing the title so quickly would be terrible. But looking closely reveals Dame’s rising anger at her behavior.
Her loss would be a lesson not to take a championship reign so lightly. It’s clear that Dame isn’t a fan of how she’s conducting business. Betraying her sooner rather than later will teach her that being a champion isn’t fun and games. Title or no title, a hard lesson learned will help Tatum Paxley in the long run.
