Will Ospreay wants to see Ricochet remind everyone how good he is.

In the 2010s, Ospreay and Ricochet’s in-ring rivalry helped define them as two of the greatest high-flyers of their generation. Their careers will always be linked together. Though they wrestle for different promotions now, Ospreay told Comicbook.com that he still keeps up with Ricochet as much as he can. The way that Ricochet is utilized in WWE makes Ospreay “a little bit sad.”

“I keep up with [Ricochet] all the time and sometimes I get a little bit sad about it. I hope he’s not sad and I hope he’s real happy,” the AEW star said. “I keep up with him as much as I can, but I feel like people are forgetting who Ricochet was once upon a time. All of these high-flyers that you see, and myself included, we all took inspiration from PAC and Ricochet.”

Referencing Ricochet being the inaugural WWE Speed Champion, Ospreay said it’s appalling that WWE only values Ricochet’s time for under five minutes. WWE Speed airs exclusively on X/Twitter and features matches with time limits of either three or five minutes.

“The fact that they only value his time for under five minutes is appalling to me,” Ospreay said. “I just want people to remember who he is. If you go and look at 2012-2013 Dragon Gate Ricochet, he was untouchable at the time. I don’t know how much longer he has got in his contract, but I think it might be up soon, man, I don’t know, maybe. I want him to know that there are people here that genuinely appreciate his work and I want to wrestle him again. I want him back here. I want him to know that there isn’t a bar. You are the f*cking bar.”

In addition to being the Speed Champion, Ricochet is a member of the WWE Raw roster. He was involved in a segment with Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov on Raw earlier this week. Breakker laid out Ricochet with a spear backstage.

Ospreay told Comicbook.com that, when it comes to high-flyers, he puts Ricochet on the same level as Rey Mysterio. If the opportunity presents itself, Ospreay thinks Ricochet should bet on himself.

“I just want to see him with more time and ability to showcase himself how I saw him,” Ospreay said. “He’s one of the best going, and if the opportunity presents itself, I think he should bet on himself. I think he should remind himself that he’s one of the best high-flyers to ever do it. If it means he’s got to come for me, then do it, boss, because I’m right here waiting for you.”

Last November, it was announced that Ospreay had signed a multi-year contract with AEW. He started with the promotion full-time earlier this year. Ospreay will attempt to capture AEW gold when he challenges Roderick Strong for the International Championship at Double or Nothing this Sunday.
