Finally explaining the teaser videos WWE has been releasing over the past few days, the company uploaded the official WrestleMania 42 promotional video. The video is set in a Vegas casino and features some of the company's top stars. Back in Vegas for the second straight year, "Back in Saddle" is the theme song for the premium live event.
Triple H can be heard narrating a video featuring Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Paul Heyman. He says:
"They say in Vegas, everyone's got a tell. A blink. A breath. A moment that can't be controlled. But the great ones, they use it to their advantage. They own it. They've got them right where they want them. The rest just haven't figured it out yet. WrestleMania Vegas. It's anyone's game."
Fans were quick to react to the video, with hundreds of comments on the YouTube post in just over an hour. For the most part, the cinematic vignette is getting rave reviews. Many appreciated the cinematic storytelling and return of a rock soundtrack, seeing it as a high-energy build-up to one of WWE’s biggest shows. Observers also pointed out Paul Heyman’s presence behind Lesnar and the fact that everyone in the video was, at one time, a Paul Heyman guy (with the exception of Cody Rhodes).
A couple of fans referred to it as a “fever dream” and marveled at seeing Lesnar, Reigns, Punk, and Rhodes together in one frame. Comments highlighted the intensity of the stars, with one fan noting Brock “looks like he’s just there to kill someone,” while others took a few seconds to comment about who wasn't in the video -- some big names and no women.
Perhaps the company will release a second video featuring exclusively female talent. Time will tell. It would be a wise decision from the company, especially given the talented crop of female superstars on the roster. That video could feature Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Iyo Sky, Tiffany Stratton, or others.
With the women’s division carrying major storylines of its own, a follow-up featuring its biggest names could complete the hype and reinforce WWE’s push toward equal spotlight for its top performers.
