It's WWE 2K25 launch weekend and even though many of you will have been playing for a week already thanks to early access, the vast majority of those who will be hopping on the latest WWE 2K bandwagon will be doing so for the first time. Since some have been playing for seven days already, some of the newest installment's secrets have already been discovered, including a very overt reference to one of Cody Rhodes' most infamous moments in AEW.
The moment I'm referencing is when Rhodes smashed a throne that was clearly intended to represent Triple H, and perhaps WWE as a whole, during his entrance at Double Or Nothing 2019. Rhodes' first, and arguably best, match in AEW during the promotion's debut event, so the biggest stage up until that point on which The American Nightmare was able to show his disdain for WWE at the time. How things have changed.
A reference to that moment showing up in AEW Fight Forever as a dig at the departing Rhodes and WWE wouldn't have been all that surprising. However, it officially appearing in WWE 2K25 is pretty shocking. You're going to need to put the work in if you want to unlock it, though, although it's difficult to describe how exactly you can unlock the Throne Smash entrance without spoiling this year's MyRise story.
There’s a new entrance motion called Throne Smasher and it is unlockable through Myrise.by u/DoubleFront8787 in WWEGames
The Throne Smash entrance is one of the last items you unlock as it's a reward during MyRise's final chapter. I won't give anything away for those of you who plan to play it all the way through, but I will tell you that when you get to the final chapter, you will need to choose to continue with the second character you created to unlock the Throne Smash entrance alongside some other items that can only be obtained by playing through MyRise to the bitter end.
Since the entrance can be unlocked and used in other game modes, that presumably means it can be attributed to other wrestlers. Now that Rhodes and Triple H are friends, it would make more sense for someone else to use it. Kevin Owens feels like a good fit, or maybe even Seth Rollins. He and The Game have a lot of history, most of which isn't good.
