WWE 2K26's Leaked Logo Sparks Hopes Of An Attitude Era Theme

WWE 2K26 still doesn't have its first teaser or trailer yet, even though by this time last year, we were officially on the road to WWE 2K25. A reveal is on the horizon, though, and a first look at what appears to be the next game's logo has sparked hope among fans that it will have an Attitude or Ruthless Aggression Era theme.

WWE 2K26 Logo Shows Up In A Logan Paul Video

A first look at the logo has appeared in a Logan Paul video shared on his YouTube channel. During a piece to camera, the YouTuber-turned-WWE Superstar stands in front of a backdrop that appears to have been created for WWE 2K26 promotional purposes. The key takeaway from this first look is the version of the WWE logo 2K has used.

The game uses the scratch logo, which WWE used a couple of different versions of over an almost-20-year period. It was introduced during the Attitude Era to replace the metallic blocky logo that had been in place since the 1980s, and then that logo was replaced with a very similar one when WWE was forced to change its name from WWF in 2002.

That logo remained in place for 12 years after that, at which point the much cleaner WWE logo that's still in use to this day replaced it. It's been out of circulation, for the most part, since 2014, which is why its appearance in the logo for WWE's next video game has got the rumor mill working overtime.

The Scratch Logo's Return Has Sparked Hopes Of An Attitude Era Showcase Mode

The leading theories are rooted in WWE 2K26 having an old-school theme. That its showcase mode will focus on either the Attitude Era or the Ruthless Aggression Era since those are the periods of time with which the scratch logo is most commonly associated. That might also mean we're getting an older, potentially retired star on the cover. The last time WWE put an inactive, older wrestler on the cover of a new game was when Stone Cold graced it in WWE 2K16.

Stone Cold's career was the focus of that year's showcase mode, so drawing a connection between that and the scratch logo in WWE 2K26 makes a lot of sense.

This doesn't mean anything for certain right now, of course. While it looks like an official backdrop that Paul happens to have taped something in front of, whether by accident or to generate buzz as he knew people would spot it, we won't know what 2K has planned, or what the final logo will look like, until it's officially revealed.

That said, this is a promising sign that the folks at 2K are stepping outside of the box for the next game in the series. The studio has gotten into a reliable rhythm for the last four games, which is great, but now and again, you need to shake things up to prevent things from becoming stale. Hopefully, there will be a WWE 2K26 reveal before the end of the month, potentially at Royal Rumble.
