WWE has announced a huge match for "Friday Night SmackDown," which will be the go-home episode before "Money in the Bank 2025."
WWE is closing in on its last PLE before the big "SummerSlam" two-night special. The participants in both the men's and women's MITB ladder matches have been determined. On the women's side, Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Roxanne Perez, Naomi, and Alexa Bliss have all qualified.
A new video announcement from "SmackDown" general manager Nick Aldis revealed that all six women will be involved in tag team action on Friday. It'll be Ripley teaming with Vaquer and Bliss to take on Naomi, Perez, and Giulia.

Three of the stars featured in the match are from the "Monday Night Raw" brand. It's a rare "SmackDown" appearance for Ripley, who has become one of WWE's biggest stars on Monday nights. This will also be the "SmackDown" debut of Vaquer, who recently joined the main roster after a brief run in "NXT."
Friday's episode of the blue brand will emanate from the Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield. In addition to the match announcement, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso have been confirmed for the show, along with John Cena and Logan Paul.
You can also expect to hear from the "Raw" and "SmackDown" participants in the men's MITB ladder match. Andrade recently qualified for the match, and he joins LA Knight and Solo Sikoa as representatives of the blue brand. The "Monday Night Raw" participants include Seth Rollins, Penta, and El Grande Americano.

The Golden State Warriors have had an underwhelming offseason thus far and the main headline surrounding the franchise remains the future of young forward Jonathan Kuminga. Kuminga remains a restricted free agent and after falling out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season, his role entering next season is up in the air. Due to this, many believe that Kuminga’s time in Golden State is set to come to an end this offseason but the young forward is still deciding on what his next move will be, which will also be reliant on the Warriors due to them likely having to move him in a sign-and-trade deal. With Kuminga’s time in Golden State likely nearing an end, Sports Illustrated’s Jackson Caudell and Rohan Raman recently came up with a three-team mock trade that would send Kuminga to the Phoenix Suns. In the trade, the Suns would receive Kuminga and Moses from the Warriors and they would send Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neal and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick to Golden State. The Atlanta Hawks are the third team in this mock trade and they would acquire Nick Richards from Phoenix. This would be an interesting move for the Warriors as they would not only be moving on from a young player in Kuminga, but Moses Moody as well. Despite this, adding a sharpshooting guard in Grayson Allen, who also excels on the defensive end, could be a massive boost that the Warriors need. O’Neal would also give the Warriors a solid scorer and defender at the forward position that would allow them to upgrade their bench. By making this move, the Warriors would get older as they would swap two young players for two veterans but the additions of Allen and O’Neal, along with potential free agent signings, could help them compete for a title next season with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler leading the way.
The Dallas Wings have waived guard Grace Berger. The move comes just one day after Berger made her Wings debut in Tuesday’s 87–63 win over the Seattle Storm. Signed to a seven-day hardship contract on July 17, Berger logged four rebounds, two assists, and one block in 10 minutes off the bench in Seattle. Her appearance marked her first WNBA game since playing for the Indiana Fever earlier this season. Before suiting up for Dallas, Berger expressed optimism about the opportunity. “I think they’re an up-and-coming team,” Berger told DallasHoopsJournal.com before the All-Star break. “There are a lot of young players mixed with some good vets that I’ve been watching and playing against for a couple of years. I’m excited to be on their team and learn from them—people like Arike [Ogunbowale], obviously, there’s a lot to learn from her.” Though her time with Dallas was brief, Berger brought a poised presence to the floor and contributed during key second-quarter minutes when the Wings were climbing out of an early deficit. Berger, Indiana’s former No. 7 overall pick in 2023, remains a candidate for future hardship or reserve opportunities around the league. In 28 career WNBA games, she has averaged 2.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest. Dallas (7–17) returns to action Friday night against the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. CT on ION.
Another stint goes down as short-lived for the former Detroit Pistons guard, Shake Milton. Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers waived Milton in order to make room for their Marcus Smart acquisition. Milton just wrapped up a 30-game run in LA. He saw the court for 12 minutes per game off the bench. Milton averaged four points, two rebounds, and one assist per game, while shooting 44 percent from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc. On Tuesday, Milton officially cleared waivers. He’s now an NBA free agent. During the 2023-2024 NBA season, the Pistons acquired Milton for a very brief stint. After he appeared in 38 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Pistons picked up Milton ahead of the 2024 trade deadline. Since the Pistons were in the midst of a 14-win season, the Milton pairing didn’t seem like a logical fit. At that point in time, any veteran with playoff experience made more sense on another team’s roster. Milton fit the bill. Prior to his run with the Timberwolves, the veteran guard appeared in four playoff runs with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Pistons did Milton a solid and worked out a buyout with the veteran. Before Milton hit the free agency market, he appeared in four games for the Pistons. He averaged seven points, five rebounds, and two assists per game. Once he hit the free agency market, Milton signed with the New York Knicks. He would play out the remainder of the season with the Knicks, but was traded to the Brooklyn Nets last summer. Milton had a 27-game run in Brooklyn before getting dealt to the Lakers. Would a Reunion Make Sense? Milton is an interesting name to consider for the Pistons at this point. While he’s best suited as a shooting guard, he has ball-handling experience and could bring some competition to the backup point guard position after the loss of Dennis Schroder. When Milton became a rotational regular for the Sixers, he posted averages of 10 points, three assists, and two rebounds, while shooting 37 percent from three in four seasons. Since his Philly days, Milton hasn't averaged more than 18 minutes on the court. He proved to be productive with the proper playing time in the past. Plus, he brings playoff experience to the table. For the time being, the Pistons are likely to roll with a combination of Jaden Ivey, Caris LeVert, and potentially Marcus Sasser when Cade Cunningham is off the court. If that plan doesn’t reach its potential, the Pistons could start looking at a target like Milton to bring in. Even though it wasn't exactly surprising, the Seattle Seahawks made a huge move on Sunday by releasing starting tight end Noah Fant to free up nearly $9 million in cap space. Fant had been the starter since Seattle traded for him ahead of the 2022 season, but he never produced more than 500 yards receiving in a single season despite primarily being a pass-catching tight end. The tight end room has now been left to a far less-experienced-but-promising group. When speaking to the media following the Seahawks' first training camp practice on Wednesday, head coach Mike Macdonald was vague about the decision to move on from Fant. "I didn’t have any conversations with him," Macdonald said. "It’s just understood that [it’s] what we’re trying to achieve as a football team. We love Noah, wish him the best, but we also love the guys that are still here, and they know what’s at stake. It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch that competition in the tight end room." Macdonald was probed once again for the reasoning behind Fant's release: “We just released him a few days ago. I’m not going to tell you exactly why; there’s multiple reasons,” the second-year Seahawks coach said. Fant's release will be oddly timed if they don't make another move at some point during training camp or extend other players. There's no reason why they couldn't have just had him play this season and then opt not to re-sign him unless they wanted that cap now or there was an underlying motivation that Macdonald isn't willing to discuss. It could've also just been that they wanted to provide opportunities to the younger players like AJ Barner and Elijah Arroyo. Either way, the competition now consists of Barner, Arroyo, Eric Saubert, Brady Russell (in addition to his opportunities at fullback) and two undrafted free agents.
