'WWE Backlash 2025' Spoilers and Results: Will Cody Rhodes Confront John Cena?

"WWE Backlash" has served as the first major event following "WrestleMania" throughout the years, and the tradition continues on Saturday.

Stars from "Monday Night Raw" and "Friday Night SmackDown" will collide at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. There will be championship gold and pride at stake in the matches that will be featured at "WWE Backlash 2025."

An Undisputed WWE Championship match between John Cena and Randy Orton secures top billing. Ever since Cena captured the gold from Cody Rhodes at "WrestleMania 41," Orton has been haunting his longtime nemesis. Cena has been on the receiving end of three RKOs in the lead-up to "Backlash," and he'll look to avoid Orton's legendary move on Saturday.

Athlon Sports has predicted a new WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion at "Backlash." Lyra Valkyria will hope to ensure that pick doesn't become a reality when she defends against "The Man" Becky Lynch. Vakyria was betrayed by Lynch, who had been the titleholder's mentor.

It might end up being a bad night for Pat McAfee. The crossover star was choked out by Gunther in an attempt to defend longtime play-by-play ace Michael Cole during an episode of "WWE Raw." This led to a challenge from McAfee to face the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion at "Backlash."

Jacob Fatu has been on a tear, and it led to him winning the WWE United States Championship at "WrestleMania." Now, Fatu has become the hunted. He will put his gold at stake against Drew McIntyre, LA Knight, and Damian Priest in a fatal four-way match.

Dominik Mysterio is also set to put his WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line. His challenger will be Penta, who has been feuding with The Judgment Day over the past couple of months. Can Penta avoid outside distractions to capture his first WWE title?

"WWE Backlash 2025" will air live at 8 p.m. ET on the Peacock streaming service. Spoilers and live results will be updated here throughout the show.

It was reported by PWInsider earlier this week that internal discussions have taken place on potentially having Cody Rhodes return on the show. Cory Hays of PW Nexus followed up on this report, saying that Rhodes is scheduled to be back on the road full-time, beginning with the May 16 episode of "SmackDown."
