WWE Clash in Paris 2025 Results & Grades

WWE Clash in Paris was an era-defining PLE. From a post-opening match angle that will leave fans talking for months to a closing scene that creates new storyline possibilities, here is a look at the show with grades for each match.

Match 1: “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns def. “The Tribal Thief” Bronson Reed (w/ Paul Heyman) in 22:05

This was the right match to open the show. As everyone anticipated, the Paris crowd was electric and played an undeniable role in starting the show off hot.

I really like Bronson and Paul Heyman together — Bronson feels like a main event singles star with the Hall of Famer by his side.

Roman’s pop was massive. We have witnessed mega pops for Roman before, but this time was different: he looked like a legend entering the arena. Roman’s acknowledgement of the crowd was cool to see. He knew they would be loud, but the reception seemed greater than he expected.

This was a simple heel versus babyface match where everything worked. They controlled the pace, knew to let moments simmer, and had believable near falls down the stretch.

The match highlight for me was when Bronson turned Roman’s spear into a powerbomb. Like Michael Cole said on commentary, I have never seen anyone neutralize Roman’s spear like that.

With this being Roman’s first singles match on a PLE since WrestleMania 40, it was important for him to go over clean. Bronson lost nothing with the loss, but was elevated because the match was so good.

Grade: A

As good as the match was, the impact of this match will be felt in what happened afterwards. After Roman got his payback on Heyman without Bron Breakker interference, it felt like his post-match celebration was the end of the segment.

I was ready to “fade to black” when he was signing shoes with Jelly Roll and Post Malone in the background. The Paris crowd was also relaxed into thinking this was a feel-good segment. That made the timing of Bron Breakker’s attack brilliant.

This post-match angle was the moment that established Bron and Bronson as believable killers who can stand on their own to get mega heat. Bron’s second spear on Roman was his best since IShowSpeed. Bronson’s tsunamis were reckless and intense. Jey Uso’s involvement was well-timed.

Roman was written off television for however long they want him to be out. Whenever he returns, we are set up for the marquee match that will be Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker.

Match 2: The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) (c) (with Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, and Erick Rowan) def. The Street Profits (with B-Fab) to retain WWE Tag Team Championships in 13:10

This was a good tag team match. The Street Profits mocking The Wyatt Sicks with their ring gear was a nice touch.

The Paris crowd was with the Profits, but I can’t help but feel that the clock is ticking on their run as a tag team. Montez Ford is a click-away from becoming a main event-level talent, but he needs to break with Angelo Dawkins to get there. I hope that the brief moment when Dawkins stopped Ford from starting the match was a seed of what’s to come.

There was good back-and-forth with the usual impressive spots along the way we’ve come to expect from the Smackdown tag division.

While all the performers in the match worked hard, the hot Paris crowd covered the awkwardness that is The Wyatt Sicks working as heels against a tag team that has been in a revolving door of identity crisis for two years.

It’s evident they’re still trying to establish The Wyatt Sicks as heel characters. I’m curious to see where they go next.

Grade: B

Match 3: Becky Lynch (c) def. Nikki Bella to retain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in 13:05

Yikes. I think that’s what we all felt watching the first 3/4 of this match.

From the moment Nikki Bella entered, this did not feel like the marquee matchup WWE wanted it to be. Nikki Bella looked like a developmental talent, not a WWE Hall of Famer.

Becky Lynch is at her career peak right now. From in-ring work to a new entrance theme that reminds me of when Edge changed to “Metalingus,” Becky is elevating her already Hall of Fame career (and the entire women’s division) to another level.

It was cringy to watch her carry a big name competitor who has never performed at that level. Next to Nikki’s air kick, the worst spot was Nikki “slamming” Becky’s…hands between the announce tables.

To her credit, Nikki worked hard and tried to recover the match (like the Manhandle Slam nearfall spot), but there were too many botched or unserious spots that threw the match out the window.

If Nikki is going to be around for a while, she needs to turn heel ASAP. The heat of the Paris crowd is going to follow her into the States.

Grade C-

Match 4: Rusev def. Sheamus by submission in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match in 20:06

This was a banger (as we knew it would be).

The match started fast, then slowed down quickly. For a few minutes, I wondered if it would reach banger-level. After the outside 10 Beats of the Bodhran spots, I got my answer.

For the first time since his return, Rusev felt like a big star. Wade Barrett added a lot to this match on commentary, given his history with both men. My one complaint: did they have to have Prime bottles on the bar table?

The match highlight was the White Noise off the whiskey barrels through the tables. Rusev kicking out Brogue Kick was one of the best near falls of the decade. The Paris fans were genuinely shocked. They followed that up perfectly with Sheamus kicking out after taking a shillelagh to the back.

Rusev going over by submission reestablished him as a monster heel. They need to get more mileage out of him, and the finish moves him in the right direction.

This match is a great example of the benefit of a 5-6 match PLE card. These men got the time to tell a long, hard-hitting story that kept getting better.

Grade: A

Match 5: John Cena def. Logan Paul in 26:23

What an epic reaction for Cena. The closer we get to December 13, the more iconic these reactions become. Once again, we saw Cena’s humanity in the moments before the bell rang. He is enjoying every moment.

Logan’s facial expressions are top-notch. I was impressed by the athleticism and move set of both performers. Logan should keep the uppercut (s/o to Cesaro). “Big Match John” was so smooth in the ring, it looked like the clock had been rolled back 15 years.

The Paris fans were having the time of their lives in the background. This was definitely the peak of the show.

The story of the match was about respect for Logan Paul. After the bell, Michael Cole said, “Logan Paul gained my respect tonight.” Wade Barrett followed that up with: “If you think Logan Paul is not a top 5 competitor in WWE, you are blinded by hatred and dead, dead wrong.” Like him or hate him, Logan Paul will be in the main event picture for years to come.

Grade: A

Match 6: Seth Rollins (c) vs. CM Punk vs. LA Knight vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship in 24:49

The performers and fans did the best they could to follow the peak of a hot show. The crowd was still energized for Jey Uso’s entrance. The pop difference between LA Knight and CM Punk was noticeable.

Knight had a good showing, but Rollins’ exchange with him in the corner was telling: “They’re cheering for somebody else.” I’m curious where they go with Knight.

Rollins and Punk added more fuel to their two-year rivalry. Becky’s run-in did not get quite the reaction it should have, but fans were tired by this point. Assuming Becky has joined The Vision, her addition creates new storyline possibilities for the group that will carry us for months.

“I hate you. I hate your stupid family. I want you to go away,” Rollins said to Punk. I think one of the family members on Punk’s bracelet may be making an appearance sooner rather than later.

Grade: B

Overall Show Grade: A

The talent, European fans, creative team, and entire crew did it again. Entertaining from start to finish, Clash in Paris will go down as a textbook PLE of the Triple H era.
