This October 11, 2025, WWE heads to “Land from Down Under,” Perth, Australia, as they host the Supershow known as WWE Crown Jewel Perth. The card is stacked from top to bottom, with every match on the card worth the top billing on any WWE Premium Live Event. With all that said, let’s get down to business. We provide everything you need to know ahead of the PLE with a full WWE Crown Jewel Perth preview. Let’s run it down.
Throughout the mid to late 2010s, John Cena and AJ Styles created one of the best Premium Live Event trilogy of matches the WWE has ever seen. It was the “Golden Boy of WWE” and “Mr. TNA” himself in a series of bouts no one ever thought would be possible. As the WWE Universe could imagine, these are some of the best outings both men have had in their respective careers, and most of the time, the WWE Championship was hanging in the balance.
In their head-to-heads, AJ Styles has won two out of the three PLE matches they have fought against each other. That said, John Cena’s lone win in their Premium Live Event showdowns notched him his record-tying 16th world title at the 2017 edition of the Royal Rumble. In their last meeting, on a 2018 episode of WWE SmackDown, Cena would knot things up at two a piece.
As you can see, folks, no one wanted to give an inch in this legendary feud, leading to a deadlock after seven years. Fortunately, they can settle the score this Saturday night in Perth in the last WWE Premium Live Event of the career of the “Never Seen 17” John Cena.
Both men have tremendous respect for one another, with Cena singing Styles’ praises, and even paying tribute to him at WWE Clash in Paris by executing his patented Styles Clash on Logan Paul. As for Styles, he would often refer to John as one of, if not the greatest rival he’s had throughout his career.
The respect ran so deep between these men that John Cena would not allow his career to end without facing one of his greatest rivals one last time. It all comes down to this. Tied at 2-2, John Cena and AJ Styles give us one more epic to end their storied rivalry once and for all.
It’s been over three years since the “Prodigal Son” came back to WWE at WrestleMania 38, and who was his first opponent? That man was Seth Rollins. Throughout Rhodes’ second go-around with WWE, Rollins’ name was attached to him, as they had classic after classic against one another.
These two are at drastically different points in their careers if you compare them to where they were back in 2022. Rollins had no opponent for ‘Mania, and Rhodes had to prove himself once again. Now, both are the top dogs on WWE Monday Night Raw and WWE Friday Night SmackDown as the WWE World Heavyweight and Undisputed WWE Champions.
When the WWE Universe thought that the rivalry was done, it all came back full circle as they duke it again for the WWE Crown Jewel Championship. One thing is clear: the animosity between the two has not let up one bit. And as their brands’ champions, they not only want to settle their rivalry to prove who’s better, but also hoist the flag for their show.
If you’ve watched any Rollins versus Rhodes match, you know that you’ll be in for quite a ride, with their Hell in a Cell Match immediately springing to mind. As they write a new chapter to this book, it’s undoubtedly going to be another excellent entry into this “forever feud.”
Who will come out on top and become the WWE Crown Jewel Champion? Find out this Saturday night at WWE Crown Jewel Perth, which you can catch on ESPN and Netflix!
