Considering how prominently he has been featured at or near the top of the WWE card for the last couple of years, coupled with the big money, long-term deal he signed recently, Gunther is one man you'd assume is committed to WWE for a very long time. However, the former World Champion clearing out his Twitter account, getting rid of any mention of wrestling, has some fans wondering what's going on.
Gunther is pretty active on social media, although you wouldn't think that if you were to visit his Twitter account right now. The most recent post from The Ring General is a retweet of something his wrestling wife, Jinny, posted almost three years ago. You need to go to the replies tab to find anything else from Gunther, and all that's left on his timeline are similar tweets celebrating his wife and their life together.
It's all very sweet and wholesome when you isolate it like that. Just a guy celebrating the love he has for his wife. However, if you had frequented Gunther's Twitter account as recently as yesterday, you'd have found hundreds of other tweets, all of which are related to his wrestling career. They're all gone, out of the blue, and fans are arguing over whether that should be something worth worrying about.
Those who think the mass deletion of Gunther's tweets is cause for concern point to what Gunther has been asked to do in WWE so far in 2025. The Austrian started the year as World Champion, losing the title to Jey Uso at WrestleMania, a match many fans don't think Uso deserved, let alone deserved to win.

The follow-up to that match was a PLE showdown with Pat McAfee at Backlash. Whatever you thought of that match, and whether you think Gunther deleting his tweets points to a larger problem, you have to think that on some level, Gunther wouldn't have been happy with wrestling McAfee on a big stage.
Other, much more level-headed fans have, as noted above, pointed to the seemingly pretty beefy contract Gunther signed recently. The deal reportedly commits Gunther to WWE for the next five years and makes him the latest of the company's top stars to have a personal tour bus incorporated into his contract.
At this early stage, Gunther's Twitter clearout could be indicative of a few things. There's a chance it shows he's annoyed at his standing in WWE right now, but there's also a chance he could play into that for on-screen reasons and a character change. There's also a very big chance it means nothing at all, and that the former World Champion simply chose to spend his weekend tidying up his Twitter.
