Here Are Your Key Moments From WWE Friday Night SmackDown For February 20, 2026

  • Cody Rhodes opens the show and addresses the crowd, but before he can begin, Jacob Fatu appears. He tells Rhodes he had him and Sami Zayn beat last week, and he knew it, until Drew McIntyre got involved. Fatu says his concern is focused on McIntyre, and he tells him to come out so he can dog walk him. GM Nick Aldis appears and says he had a feeling this was going to happen, so he gave McIntyre the night off. He says there's too much on the line to have an issue, and he tells Fatu to leave the ring and come with him so they can discuss his gripes and grievances. McIntyre then appears from the stands, and he says he loves SmackDown so much, he bought an entire suite for himself. He asks Fatu what he's going to do, and as Fatu tries to attack him, the security and Aldis stop him. Fatu leaves, and as McIntyre tells the crowd that everyone's against him because he's the champion, Rhodes tells him it's for a different reason, one which did not get past Syfy's censors.
  • Women's Champion Jade Cargill appears in the ring, and says she's not going to say it again: she defends her title on her time. Jordynne Grace tried her best, but couldn't get the job done. She says everyone's so loud online and backstage, but no one can get it done. She addresses Liv Morgan and tells her she'll be there to hear her decision in Atlanta next week, and if it's her or whoever comes out of the Elimination Chamber, she'll be ready and will win. She then comes face to face with Charlotte Flair as she leaves the stadium.

The Likelihood of Jacob Fatu In WrestleMania 42 Title Match Feels Stronger Than Ever

Although we're still waiting to see who will face Drew McIntyre in a match for the WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 42, it certainly doesn't seem like it's going to be a one on one match. After tonight's showdown between Jacob Fatu, Cody Rhodes, and McIntyre, it feels like the table is being set for a triple threat match for the top prize in WWE.

Fatu has been unstoppable since coming to WWE, and this match feels appropriate for him given his overall popularity with the crowd and dominance over the roster. If Rhodes ends up winning the Chamber next weekend, look for Fatu to find his way in, and adding an entirely new layer to this feud leading into Sin City.

Kiana James, Trick Williams Qualify For The Chamber

Trick Williams was always the leading favorite for the men's Elimination Chamber match, riding high on fan excitement since joining the main roster. Tonight, he pinned Damian Priest to attain his spot, and is now entering his first Chamber match and is vying for his WrestleMania moment against Drew McIntyre.

The surprising win of the tournament goes to Kiana James, who scored a decisive victory over Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax, two former Women's Champions, and earned a place in the women's Chamber. It's a major opportunity for James, who's been mostly a supporting character on the main roster for Giulia, and gives her a chance to shine against major players in the women's division, and a shot at championship gold.
