WWE announced on Wednesday (October 22) the date and location for next year’s Money in the Bank PLE. The PLE has changed many careers, that is, if they can win the MITB briefcase.

Where & When Is Money in the Bank 2026

Per the announcement, the PLE will be on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The WWE Universe reacted to the news with mixed results. One fan criticized part-timers. They wrote:

“Cool announcement, but if they let another part-timer win the briefcase, I’m out.”

Another fan commented on the date of the event and brought up WrestleMania 42 not being in New Orleans like originally. Instead, WrestleMania 42 is going to be in Las Vegas again. The fan tweeted:

“Money in the bank after SummerSlam is an odd choice. Plus I feel bad for New Orleans for being slighted out by Vegas for WM 42.”

Other fans also brought up the date being late for the event. A fan wrote:

“In what world is money in the bank after Summerslam we’ve lost the plot.”

While another tweeted:

“In September is wild.”

There were also fans joking about how the ticket prices for the PLE were going to be over $10,000 and how WWE’s booking of LA Knight is going to be terrible.

A Look Back At Money In The Bank 2025

This year’s MITB took place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. The 2025 Men’s MITB winner was Seth Rollins, who famously pretended that he was injured ahead of SummerSlam. After CM Punk defeated Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, Rollins came out and threw down his crutches and successfully cashed in his briefcase. Though things would turn bad for Rollins, he injured his shoulder at Crown Jewel: Perth in his match against Cody Rhodes. This past episode of WWE RAW, he had to relinquish the title, and now it’s going to be Punk vs. Jey Uso for the WWE Heavyweight World Championship on November 1 at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The 2025 Women’s MITB winner was Naomi. Naomi cashed in the briefcase this past July, during the Evolution PLE. In the middle of the match between the then-Women's World Champion IYO Sky and Rhea Ripley, Naomi cashed in, and it became a Triple Threat match. She would pin the champ and become the new Women’s World Champion. Though like Rollins, she had to relinquish the title, though not because of injury, but because she’s expecting her first child with WWE Superstar Jey Uso. Now the champion is Stephanie Vaquer, who won the title at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

So it’ll be interesting to see what happens to next year’s winners. Hopefully, they will have a successful cash-in and run with the titles.
