WWE Night of Champions 2025 comes to the WWE Universe from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On that night in the Middle East, we will crown a new King and Queen of the Ring. Plus, two potential champions. There’s a big fight feel for every match on this Premium Live Event. To get you all hyped up, we provide a full WWE Night of Champions preview, happening on June 28. 2025. Without further ado, let’s run it down.
After a gruelling King of the Ring tournament, we are down to two men: Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Former stablemates in Legacy and real-life friends, Rhodes and Orton share a rich history. Randy Orton took Cody Rhodes under his wing early in the career of the future “American Nightmare.” We all know how it panned out for Cody, becoming “the guy” for WWE.
Fast forward over a decade, and these two brothers will go to war for a shot at immortality in the “Biggest Party of the Summer” in August. For Cody, winning the King of the Ring and potentially regaining the Undisputed WWE Title could be his chance at redemption following the events of WrestleMania 41.
As for Orton, it’s a chance to make history and nab his 15th world title and save professional wrestling from the threats of John Cena, in case CM Punk fails to do so in the main event.
Two friends, one crown. Who will be crowned King of the Ring and challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship?
Prediction: Cody Rhodes
Almost two decades in the making. In the main event of Night of Champions, CM Punk challenges, arguably, his greatest rival, John Cena, for the Undisputed WWE Championship. These two have been reliving all their times in battle together, albeit not really in a way most would think of.
Fourteen years ago, these two were at two extremely different points in their careers; John Cena was the face that ran the place, a model WWE Superstar that everyone and their mother loved. Meanwhile, CM Punk was the injection of raw, unapologetic energy that WWE needed at the time. Now, Cena’s out to ruin wrestling, while Punk looks to guide this company into the future as he slowly hands it over to the next generation.
Despite nearly a decade, these two still have that disdain and fire in them, trading verbal and physical jabs as they rekindle one of the best rivalries WWE has ever seen. John Cena wants to end this retirement tour with the gold around his waist, wanting to walk away as the “last real champion” the company sees.
CM Punk wants to prove to everyone that he saw this coming way before anyone ever did, and he’s here to not only nab another world title but also correct the mistakes John Cena made in this path of destruction.
At Night of Champions, it’s going to be CM Punk and John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship, one last time. Who will come out of Riyadh as the top guy in WWE?
Prediction: John Cena
