'WWE Raw' Ends in Shocking Fashion With New Champion

Gunther is now a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

One night after he competed in a tag team main event at "Money in the Bank 2025," Jey Uso put the top male prize on the red brand on the line against "The Ring General." Uso didn't enter the match at 100 percent health, as he had been attacked by Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed in recent weeks.

It was clear that the attacks had a negative impact on Uso during "WWE Raw." Ultimately, "The Ring General" choked Uso out to enter his second reign with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It was a surprising finish for those who thought Rollins would successfully cash in his MITB briefcase. Such a move would've marked Rollins' second reign with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He also would've been a six-time WWE world champion, but it wasn't meant to be on this night.

Uso thought he had the match won when he hit a spear on Gunther, followed by the Uso Splash. The challenger ended up kicking out.

Uso's injured ribs was a major talking point on commentary. The aforementioned attacks from Rollins, Breakker, and Reed were to blame for Uso's injury. Reed's Tsunami splashes during last week's episode of "Raw" proved to have done the most damage.

Many are now left to wonder what WWE's plans are for "Raw's" world title just two months prior to "SummerSlam." Some were under the impression that Uso would hold onto the title at least until WWE's August PLE, but the reign didn't reach a full two months.
