WWE RAW: Judgment Day's Betrayal of Finn Balor Gets Mixed Response

Finn Balor has been kicked out of The Judgment Day following a dramatic segment on WWE RAW last night which saw his stablemates turn on him. It was Balor who instigated the betrayal by turning on Dominik Mysterio during a heated argument.

JD McDonagh initially looked likely to play mediator until he hit Balor with a clothesline to signify he had sided with Mysterio. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez joined in, kicking and stomping him.

A four-on-one assault eventually led to Mysterio using a ring bell hammer in his boot to deliver a 619. McDonagh attacked Balor with a chair before laying it on top of Balor and allowing Mysterio to hit a frogsplash.

Fans React to Judgment Day Destroying Finn Balor

It was a shocking turn of events that means the longest-serving member of The Judgment Day is no longer in the group. It had been coming, given his recent babyface promos and issues with Mysterio.

The segment itself was effective, but its consequences have divided fans' opinions. Some don't just want Balor out of the faction but for the stable to end.

One fan wrote: "Not talking about turning Finn Balor babyface because that was long overdue, but it's still time for Judgment Day to end. So, I can't wait for Dominik Mysterio/Liv Morgan to go on their own, then Raquel Rodriguez to go on her own. JD McDonagh can do JD."

Another echoed this: "How about disband the faction for good? Edge isn't in the WWE anymore and he created that faction what's the use of continuing this group while the original founding members are no longer with them?"

One reckons it is endeed the beginning of the end of The Judgment Day: "I can see this as the beginning of the end for TJD. Finn kinda held things together amd was selfless during their entire run. TJD should go into the HOF one day."

Others were thrilled for Balor as they believe he will now be handed a solo run. He has mostly competed in the tag team division during his time with the stable.

One fan wrote: "Finn was Great without The Judgment Day losers he will be great again without Judgement day Finn is also right about Rey Mysterio is the best Mysterio."

Another added: "Finn free from Judgment Day! Demon incoming."

One fan is excited to see where the storylines goes: "I love this and i hate this, as a judgment day fan, i loved finn being apart of it, since he was one of my favs before TJD, but i love dominik even more now, so i know this is gonna cook."

Another pointed out the timeline of The Judgment Day: "SO it started with Edge, Priest and Ripley. Replaced Edge with Finn. Priest and Ripley were kicked out. Now Finn is kicked out. Makes sense."

Balor joined the stable back in June 2022, aligning with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley and kicking former WWE star Edge out of the group. He hasn't won a singles title since and instead teamed with McDonagh, whom he brought into the fold.

JD McDonagh Explains Finn Balor Betrayal

While Mysterio had his reasons for turning on Balor, many are questioning why McDonagh has decided to kick his long-term tag partner to the curb. He held a stronger friendship with Balor than Mysterio, given their Irish connection, and he was trained and mentored by the WWE veteran.

McDonagh explained why he and the rest of the group destroyed Balor. He wrote on X:

"You lied to all of us for months. You got an ego. You wanted to be the leader. You played games. That's never been what the Judgment Day has been about. You used to know that. Judgment Day is my family and if anybody dares to try to step on any of them, you get stomped out."

It will be interesting to see where the storyline goes from here. The expectation was that Mysterio would defend the Intercontinental Championship against Balor at WrestleMania 42.

That can no longer happen as Mysterio lost the title to Penta on RAW last Monday. He could reclaim the gold before Mania or WWE might just book a grudge match between the AAA Mega Champion and his friend-turned-foe.
