WWE Release WrestleMania 42 Promo Featuring Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar
WWE

WWE have ended speculation over cryptic promos dropped over recent days by officially releasing the promo for WrestleMania 42. The pro wrestling world was sent into a frenzy when mysterious teasers dropped over the weekend and on Monday, indicating a possible return or debut.

WWE Release WrestleMania 42 Promo

Fans began speculating about the reasons behind the WWE teaser videos released on their social media platforms. Some suggested a big return, such as Chris Jericho, while others tipped a debut for NXT's Tony D'Angelo.

This discussion ended early on Monday when reports revealed that the cryptic clips were meant to hype WrestleMania 42. This has now been confirmed following the release of a commercial on WWE's X account.

The superstars featured in the teasers were Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar, while Triple H and Paul Heyman are also involved. They sit playing a game of poker to tie into the return to Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

You can watch the commercial below:

WWE is returning to Nevada after holding WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in April this year. The likes of Rhodes, Lesnar, Roman Reigns and CM Punk look set to be in action at the Show of Shows on April 18–19, 2026.

The commercial itself is intriguing as four of WWE's biggest stars are gambling potentially on their futures on the Road to WrestleMania. Rhodes is the reigning WWE Champion and will be keen to hold the gold still once Mania arrives.

A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at Saturday Night's Main Event this Saturday (November 1) when Punk faces Jey Uso. Seth Rollins, who may well have featured in the above promo, was forced to vacate the title after undergoing major shoulder surgery earlier this month.

"All That Hype" - Fans Hit Out At WrestleMania 42 Promo

WWE's production team have hit it out the park with their work on the WrestleMania 42 hype video but the decision to use an extended tease hasn't gone down well with fans. The excitement surrounding a possible return has fallen flat, and some are frustrated that they were swerved with an anticlimactic conclusion.

One fan responded to the commercial:

"All that hype for this crap lol."

Another fan wrote:

"So this is all about next years Wrestlemania? What a waste of hype."

One hit out at the lack of women representation:

"Nice of you to show the women in your company."

Another added:

"And they all thought it was Jericho...."

WWE have used entertaining vignettes to promote WrestleMania in the past, including Hollywood trailers for Mania 39 in Inglewood, California. It seems the production team will be having fun coming up with similar ideas on the Road to Mania 42.
